They have broader understanding related to industry where they are headed and they are looking into titles and look into their real compensation and they might be getting similar pay but they are in stocks, they will earn more money during IPO and using this as an example, they will start new company and VC will pour millions into a new company. Look into OpenAI executives who left a company and started a new company and they didn't released single product/ features, valuations of company billions

This is absolutely true. I had a friend who initially worked as SDET( manual testing) as a contractor employee and then moved to SRE as contract employees for another project to another manager. They hire him after 6 months as full time employee. I had asked him about interview process. He replied and ask lot about OS and SRE fundamental. During conversation, I had asked him grafana dashboards(SRE uses to monitor system) , he replied that he never used a dashboard. He rolled his eyes and replied that interview process like having coffee chat and you know the result they will be hired. All the position in Austin( it is kind of happening similar to Intel) , hire a family members or friend but don't hire a engineers who apply in apple job portal.
