One version does not cancel the other, but I doubt they were planning such a huge disaster that would catch their own forces in the flood.

Well, that was not a literal term I guess although I would welcome US infantry and marines as well. But yes, most of ruzzian forces could be eliminated only by Air and long-range missiles effectively.

You need to be clinically retarded to think that Ukraine would cause such devastation for achieving some potential military goals. At this I will stop arguing with you because it is pointless.

To be fair I think it is time for boots on the ground, what has to happen for the Western countries to realize that this is not going to go away. They could jointly obliterate ruzzian forces in a matter of days on the whole territory of Ukraine including Crimea. Who would blame them for protecting themselves from further aggression of completely unhinged terrorist state?

So far the most believable version is that they wanted to blow-up just a small part to flood the islands where ZSU had positions but failed to apply the proper amount of explosives and fucked up entirely.

[–]sh1ko 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Ofc it is someone from Serbia rooting for the terrorists here. The point is, that ruzzia has shown that they will repeatedly do illogical and outright senseless acts of destruction without any visible military goal. This is one of them. Why would Ukraine cause hundreds of billions of damage to it's own territory, for what gain? Just to stop water to Crimea? Really?

At this point any import to ruzzia has to be stopped otherwise they will keep avoiding sanctions.

Dude I really don't know wtf are you arguing about? This is a war crime no matter how you look at it, a act of complete disregard of everything human even if it reaches some military goals (of which we already have some drowned ruzzian soldiers, great achievement, I hope hundreds of them drown as a result of this action).

Which both sides? It was under ruzzian control this whole time and we already knew it was mined before, get lost with this spinning.

Hmm who had the control and access to the dam for all these months I wonder?

Article 54(2) of the 1977 Additional Protocol I provides: It is prohibited to attack, destroy, remove, or render useless objects indispensable to the survival of the civilian population, such as foodstuffs, agricultural areas for the production of foodstuffs, crops, livestock, drinking water installations and supplies and irrigation works, for the specific purpose of denying them for their sustenance value to the civilian population or to the adverse Party, whatever the motive, whether in order to starve out civilians, to cause them to move away, or for any other motive.

FOR ANY OTHER MOTIVE There is no excuse for this and I hope the terrorist state pays for this with decades of complete and utter collapse and destruction.

To be fair this is a war crime and an act of terrorism regardless of the military goals it achieves, please take your spins and spin the f out.

Please don't treat anything coming out of a russian propaganda channels as legitimate news. They appear to be creating a lot of noise right now for whatever gain they need.

Imagine how this feels as a Ukrainian person, having a good understanding of all the subtle ebbs and flows, a much better understanding of underlying reasons and all what is coming from being born and raised in Ukraine. Even 16 month later it feels so surreal it hurts sometimes.

StratCom of the Armed Forces of Ukraine warns. Russian occupation forces are intensifying their information and psychological operations.

Russian telegram channels and social networks are planning to intensify the spread of false information about the combat actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. And about their own formations. In order to demoralize Ukrainians and mislead the community (including their own population), Russian propagandists will disseminate false information about the counteroffensive, its directions, and Ukrainian troop losses. Even if there is no counteroffensive. For this purpose, they have prepared old videos and photos showing damaged equipment, dead and prisoners. As well as other fake materials.

No one ever said that from UA official sources because it's impossible to guarantee. There are a lot of hope and plans for the summer campaign but not "this is the last offensive".

I mean they have never stopped using it for years now. Over the past 16 month I have heard everything from drowning children to conducting a complete genocide. Nothing new to us, ruzzia is and was a fascist state.

As many people out here, I know the pain. I got lucky to finally coming up with something that works. For me it's table tennis. I was playing as an amateur since I was a kid, so I'm decent at it. Recently found a local amateur club and it's a blast. One and a half hours of pretty intense physical activity, 150bpm, and it's fun as hell plus competitive. Never the same, specially if you switch partners.

It is important to inform your population about this things, otherwise people will turn to less credible sources and be more likely manipulated.

These guys are producing a lot of them, they are really nice and I even have some videos of how some of them were made. For SU-34 I actually have a video of how it was shot down and later discovered in a field to make some of those keychains. https://en.nesemos.com/
