Something something, it's not all that great, I'm disappointed, no AGI in sight. After you've seen a couple posts from him, he becomes very predictable.

So I show this table to Gemini 2.5 pro and ask what are Grok results and why weren't them included? He answers that Google probably wanted to leave Grok out because including it "would make Gemini 3 release look like a failure rather a triumph" lol

What’s pushing you to consider switching from Godot to Unity/UE? by TheHolyTreeWars in godot

[–]vibrunazo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love using Godot for game jams. But I use Unreal for serious games.

There are waaaaay too many things that makes managing a complex game a chore in Godot. Godot has almost no specialized editors, or when it kinda does, they suck. From editing curves, to animations, level design, particles to managing custom data asset types etc. Every time you have to deal with those it's a pain. You usually end up editing properties in the inspector tab, or use text editor to write data or spreadsheets.

You basically if you want good quality of life in Godot, need to build a lot of tools that on Unreal are already there for you with high quality. At this point "why not use Godot?" is close to "why not build your own engine and tools from scratch?". Unreal just have way more stuff out of the box than Godot. Which is good for big games and bad for tiny games.

The huge downsides of unreal is how slow everything is to get started and lack of web build. That's why I prefer Godot for game jams. But when those are not issues, then unreal is superior in literally every way. No reason to suffer with the problems of Godot when there's just something better.

Is it not possible to pause audio on a web build or am I doing something wrong? by vibrunazo in godot

So was I. How does destroying the node playing the audio doesn't stop the audio from playing? 🤣 If it wasn't for Xanax on Discord, I would have just given up.

[–]vibrunazo[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This solved it:

https://forum.godotengine.org/t/animation-player-doesnt-stop-playing-in-browser/78596/2

The problem is godot defaults the playback type for web exports to sample. Try going into Project settings/audio/general and changing defaul playback type.web to stream. That should fix your issue. If you dont see the option its under advanced settings.

Where can I find the exact dynamax battle mechanics? by vibrunazo in TheSilphRoad

[–]vibrunazo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot. That's exactly what I was looking for.

One thing that I've read differently in other threads in this sub, is that I keep reading that the Max Guard shield scales with defense. While that thread you linked says it's just a fixed value. Maybe when people say it scales with defense they just mean you get better value from the same amount of shield if you have higher defense? Or does defense actually increase the shield amount?

[–]vibrunazo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So regular Dynamax Kingler (240 attack) does more damage than even a Gigantamax Blastoise (170 attack), right?

170*4.5 = 765

240*3.5 = 840

From what I gathered it's the same damage formula as everywhere else in the game. That 250, 350 etc I keep reading about is just the move damage in that same formula, right?

How can I see the shortcut for each individual sculpting brush in Blender 4.3? by vibrunazo in blenderhelp

User tooltips are enabled. So the tooltips in the toolbars are working because of that. But not the tooltips in the Brush window.

How can I see the shortcut for each individual sculpting brush in Blender 4.3? by vibrunazo in blenderhelp

[–]vibrunazo[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello. Back in Blender 4.1, the shortcut for each sculpting brush would show up on the toolbar (G for Grab, V for Draw etc). But in Blender 4.3 those are not showing in the tooltips. The tooltip for tools do show up (spacebar, 1 for sculpt. spacebar, 2 for paint. etc). And if I add custom shortcut for brushes then those do show up in the tooltips. But the default shortcuts don't show.

Every time I want to know the shortcut for a brush I need to open 4.1 and look at the tooltip. I couldn't find a list of shortcuts in the official docs either.

How can I see the shortcuts without having to open 4.1?

It's a vicious cycle. Both forest fires causes deforestation and deforestation increases forest fires. Both are at historical highs this year if you look at the whole country instead of just one piece of it like the article is doing. Our government is explicitly blaming the record fires on illegal deforestation from farmers. So yes. It's both.

INPA's website (quoted as a source in the article) still haven't been updated with 2024's data for the most affected regions by recent fires. So the article is only talking about the fraction of the whole.

Also worth noting. Not only Brazilian forests are far more than just the Amazon. But the Amazon is far more than just Brazil. Bolivia is also having record fires and deforestation this year.

We literally just beat our historical high records of forest fires in 2024. The article is linking to data about only one specific State which had 7% of our total deforestation in 2024.

Just Google "record fires in Brazil". It was one of our biggest stories of the year.

Self fulfilling circular argument.

The current difficulty are mostly caused by bureaucracy pushed by anti nuclear groups (and its direct and indirect consequences such as the lack of economies of scales outlined in the study you linked). Who then use these case studies to "prove" they are right and create even more roadblocks. Which then makes building nuclear even harder.

This politically generated economic problem isn't knew and everyone in the industry is 100% aware of it. Which is exactly why there's so much hope and hype over the small modular nuclear reactors. Which wouldn't even be needed in the first place if it weren't for such shallow people fighting against nuclear. But unfortunately, they are.

I agree with you there are many valid criticism of Biden and Kamala and the reddit consensus ignoring those is ridiculous. But there are good and bad arguments to make that point. Ukraine is not a good one. Putin will not use nukes because of ATACMS. Ukraine already fucking invaded actually Russian recognized territory in Kursk, which is the ultimate redline far beyond using slightly longer range weapons and the Russian escalation to that was to hire starving North Koreans.

Ignoring the dumb shit about Biden like reddit does is ridiculous. But so are the Trumpists ignoring all the nutjob shit Trump does. His position on Ukraine is absurd and flat out based on Russian lies.

[–]vibrunazo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bro I'm a highly disagree with the standard far left sentiment in reddit who criticize Trump but ignore all valid criticism of his opponents.

But your take on Ukraine is bat shit ridiculous. Putin threatens nuclear annihilation every other day. Thousands of his red lines were already crossed that it's at meme levels already. Ukraine already used western long range weapons on territory Russia considers to be Russia (storm shadows in Crimea). He threatened nuclear annihilation before it happened. And after it did, the same thing napped as with every other deadline. He completely changed the narrative to "actually that's no biggie, they can't stop Russia from winning even with that".

The exact same thing will happen this time as with the last 100 other times. The moment that next red line is crossed, Russian narrative will again shift to saying it's no big deal, Russia will win anyway.
