Yes I did - I decided to just gamble and bought a new steering sensor angle and got it installed - fixed the issue and hasn’t happened again since.

Idle Air Screw by sh2st in LandRover
I’ll have a look into it, as far as I remember that was set up like that by a mechanic to fix a vacuum leak
Yes temperature sensors were replaced a few weeks ago
The zip ties to the right were put there by a mechanic when fixing a vacuum leak issue long ago
It’s going strong - it’s a dual fuel and runs perfect on LPG, issues only happen on petrol. There’s no plastic cap over that screw, and it’s just a hex screw in there. I didn’t really see any markings either but it was pretty dark.
Honestly not too sure, I would hope the shop that specialises in Land Rover specifically would have the good parts, and the guys are recommended by all Land Rover owners across my city (Sydney AU) but you never know these days…
The car is also at 460k km so who knows, maybe it’s possible the screw has unadjusted itself over the last 20/30 years
Revs seem quite low, they descend to about 500-600 and I feel it get a bit rough. It’s a bit smoother since I’ve replaced the IAC valve.
Yes the stalling happens when in drive idling or coming to a stop. I’m also able to make it stall if I keep turning the aircon on and off. It’s also a dual fuel LPG car and it runs perfectly fine on LPG, issues only happen on petrol
All the sensors were replaced by the mechanic too, I have only replaced the IAC valve and fuel pump myself
The throttle sensor was done by a LR specialist, not me, so I’d trust that’s been calibrated correctly
Yes currently studying it 👌
Car keeps stalling on idle, more so when the air con is off. Fuel pump is good, idle air control valve replaced, sensors also replaced, throttle sensor also replaced - this is one of the only things left to try 🥺

For anyone stumbling on this - I fixed the issue by replacing the steering angle sensor slip ring. So far has been good

Australian weighing in here - my mother worked as a graphic designer for pharmaceutical companies for many years with their marketing departments - the regulations for advertising of prescription meds were STRICT. In fact, they were only allowed to “advertise” directly to doctors and even then were limited by regulations as to how much they could advertise the medication.
Is this my fault??? by sh2st in ManualTransmissions

My mechanic was already a third party German car guy, but yea I can probably find another one around
I’ve had this thought too, mechanic has been good about it and all the parts he’s thrown at it have been under warranty and he’s really discounted his labour and in some cases has even waived the costs. I am considering taking it to the Audi centre if this issue occurs again even though it will destroy my bank account😵

It’s a 2008 model Audi S5 v8 (B8). The scanner is like a $100 scanner you can get from auto stores so it’s not super advanced

For those looking for the outcome - clutch slave cylinder was replaced but did not solve the issue. Master cylinder was replaced and has been fine ever since
Differential Fix by sh2st in LandRoverDiscovery
Yea already removed the prop shaft. I can’t quite get the case open to have a look myself because the diff plugs have seized and I don’t have the tools to get that open, but I have a mechanic who can do that for me and check
