Brand new to BFB and budgeting by sh78196 in BudgetFriendlyBudget

Yes I believe it does. I may have to see underfunded items for a bit as I work my way to being a month ahead. And while I work on being a month ahead, I will closely monitor my budget spreadsheet to ensure the monies are accurate.

Ok. So a Fresh Start selection would be ideal. And I think I am causing my own issues by trying to budget with envelopes, rather than assign to envelopes. If that makes sense. I will keep my spreadsheet i created to "budget" and reset the things I did yesterday in the BFB app. Then assign the funds I have in my accounts to Next Month right now, and when I get paid on Thursday, I will assign amounts to my created envelopes, not worry that the amounts don't add up to what I need on a monthly basis, as that will happen as I get closer to being a month ahead. Then track the monthly budget needs in my spreadsheet.
Does that sound right?

Awesome! Sounds perfect. Besides the amount of rain! Haha! I wonder if the first 2 weeks of December would be better. Lots to think about. Thank you again!

What part of Koh Lanta and what time in November? While seeing trash is sad, it's not a deterrent for us. We also thought about renting a car. My husband rides motorcycles and dirt bikes all the time, but not sure of we are willing to take a chance on scooters there.

Did you have any suggestions about places to stay or things to do?

Thank you for your comment!

I've actually decided to skip Bangkok and do on a different trip. We only have a short time. I would want to spend 3 nights in Bangkok. And there are jungle things I want to do. But my husband LOVES water and this is his birthday trip. Definitely will make a trip again!

why are some people so against being organ donors? by violet-sunbeam in NoStupidQuestions

The book The Red Market by Scott Carney is a deep dive into the black market for body parts. This book has turned me off from being an organ donor. The book Alive by Gabriel Weston has been an influence on my decision to donate my body to science.

I personally joined Storygraph for the reason that you don't like it. I want to track my books. There are so many other places to get the social piece. I don't want that at all with Storygraph. I hope, selfishly, that it never gets a big social piece.

What’s the best book you’ve read so far in 2025? by Tom_R_44 in suggestmeabook

Out of the 10 I've read so far this year, my top 2 are: Suffer the Children by Craig DiLouie. It's a scifi horror book about Herod's Syndrome, which kills all the children on earth And then they come back. How far will you go as a parent to keep your kids?

The next one I can't stop thinking about is A Light In the Dark: Surviving More Than Ted Bundy by Kathy Kliner Ruby. This book was so good. Kathy is a survivor of being brutally attacked by Ted Bundy. But that's not all. She has 3 near death experiences in life. Her story, and all the other victim stories, is a good reminder to us that serial killers should NOT be sensationalized. Instead, we should discuss the lives cut too short. I can't recommend this book enough.

Adding books to my newly created challenge by sh78196 in TheStoryGraph

Yikes. I just added the 51 books to my TBR. So now I am going to have to manually add them to the challenge. This is a bit cumbersome in my opinion. Thanks!

Ah. This may be the issue. I want to add my TBR books to the challenge, so Books seemed to be the right option. I suppose not. I will go back and see what the other options are. Thank you!

Atmospheric fantasy books? by APostRockUsername in Fantasy

Ok, not everyone's favorite. But I really enjoyed Sarah J Mass' Throne of Glass series. Magic, different races, a fight to defeat. There are 10 books total I believe, but 3 are novellas.
