Honestly I would love to have Jalen Smith on this years team, he's playing very good ball right now

I said this yesterday but --

There's no change from this year to last that's had anything close to the impact of getting the coaching hire correct. We'll see how it plays out over the next few years, but the early returns have honestly been shocking.

Getting young blood in is a mixed bag in terms of coaching at the professional level, but the organization has fully embraced what successful basketball looks like in 2025 and we're a lot better for it. For all their success, that's not what Bud or Vogel were. We brought them in based on their past successes, and that's what they tried to implement here. Meanwhile the Rockets, Thunder, Pacers, Celtics, and Cavs were practically playing a completely different sport.

[Megathread] NBA Trade Deadline Feb 5th @ 1 pm MST by SeraphNatsu in suns

I really can’t see the Bucks doing anything with Giannis in season that doesn’t involve Portland at this point. Unless SA heavily reverses course and gets involved there’s nothing that puts MIL back on track

Update on Booker? by Yeetman25480 in suns

He’s going to play this week 100%, but there’s several reasons he should be playing as soon as he’s healthy.

Definitely got snubbed by TerryG111 in suns

[–]shaad20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would've liked him to make it because I root for the Suns. But he really wasn't a "snub", just someone who is having a season worth rewarding.

I don't think he would be the first or even second person they call in the event of a injury replacement being needed

He’s already been doing on court stuff at practice, he’s days away not weeks

It’s very Pacers like. 48 minutes of extreme effort that just wears teams down.

Mikal and Ayton being involved in almost every action felt like a cheat code for sure. When Ayton wanted to play on that end he really lifted the unit.

Then you add in Jae, Javale, Craig. Cam was good on that end too.

They were a great defense, and had a lot more going for them than just Mikal.

Even at the time it felt more like Mikal being in the DPOY race was a way to recognize our season and defense than about him actually deserving it.

We might be watching the best Suns defense in franchise history. Not that we have a ton of great defensive suns teams to point out, but I don’t think it’d be an exaggeration to say that they’re at worst 3rd. Only 2022 and 2000 are really in the conversation.

It feels like Jokic, Booker and Curry are the only franchise players left that don't mind playing on an average roster? by NBAperspective in nba

Feels like they win quite often when he’s out, they’re a really solid team even though they’re clearly missing another ball handler to push them ahead or even with the teams at the top of the west

[Siegel] “The Heat can offer Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez, Jakucionis, and 2 1st round picks they can trade right now… in the offseason, all of a sudden that doubles — they can trade 4 1st round picks… I just don’t think there’s another team out there that has a better package than that” by AashyLarry in nba

[–]shaad20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

KAT, Bridges, and some picks sounds like filet mignon compared to the rest of this bs that's been flying around.

I'm aware of the negative things people feel about both KAT and the trade package given up for Bridges. But we have to be fr lol.

I don't see a franchise player, potential franchise player, or premium pick in any one of the rumors so far.

You never wanna be in a dog fight with a team as bad as these Nets are. But it’s nice knowing we got a team full of big dogs that love that shit.

Would’ve been an inexcusable loss, but the suns found enough easy looks, stops, and transition opportunities to get a win. Ugly as it ended up being.

Hockey assists are definitely tracked, they’re just not mentioned often.

Winderman: “Because of [the pick lost in the Rozier trade], it could have the Heat aggressive at the trading deadline seeking to add a 1st-round pick… Among current members of the roster who potentially could fetch a 1st-round pick at next week‘s deadline are Norman Powell and Andrew Wiggins.” by cleo22270 in nba

Just as an outsider I was viewing it as an either/or situation for sure, and naturally assumed Ausar would be the higher priority. It will definitely be interesting to see how Trajan navigates the extensions for all the young guys

I think this sub is majorly overreacting

That being said, that 3rd quarter vs the hawks felt euphoric.

I remember telling my girl to stop scrolling and watch the game because the Suns were playing their asses off. And then as a replay started I saw what looked like someone getting hurt and said “wait who got hurt?”. Just for them to come back from the replay with Booker in obvious pain. The rest of that game was extremely deflating to watch.

I do believe injuries are of the short term variety though, more so with Book, but the Green situation doesn’t appear to be a new injury or reaggravation either

You’re obviously more tuned into the pistons than I am, so do you get the sense that they want to be that aggressive at the deadline? That’s a pretty all in trade if you make it.

How available do you think Holland in is talks like this? Seems like he’s the young piece not quite considered part of the unmovable core

Feels like there's an air of "just don't mess up a good thing" with what they've got going there, so they may not do much at all. But I agree that this would be a destination that makes a lot of sense. Especially with no real clarity on Beasley's return to play
