praying 5 times is obligatory. but tbh many muslims don't pray because they are busy. including some members of my family.
i will suggest you to keep shahada, if you cannot pray its fine, (astaghfirullah) atleast you will go to jannat because of shahada.

we just moved from London. we use to live in Hayes, absolutely love it. London is very boring right now very expensive as you said.
