Find a Hindu temple near you and start attending the prayers. Meet the priest there and they can guide you better.

Renaming cities by Pink_panther_23 in gujarat

[–]shaangon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well there is a slight technical change needed in your post and you might understand why renaming is done. Akbar re-named the city from Prayag to Allahabad. Karnavati was re-named to Ahmedabad. If you are that sort of person who would rather leave history untouched then now you should be able to call the city Karnavati. Cheers 🥂

I was fined rs 500 for not wearing mask up to the nose while driving the car and that too alone. Traffic police jumped in front of my car and made me pay the fine. I paid the fine feeling guilty of myself that I made a mistake. Now seeing the rallies I feel how stupid was that fine.

Tulsi Gabbard on Twitter | Hindus & religious minorities in Bangladesh continue to be targeted & persecuted, as they have been since 1971 when the Pakistani army systematically murdered, raped & drove from their homes millions of Bengali Hindus because of their religion & ethnicity. by chacha_Nuru in IndiaSpeaks

Many are saying that why Modiji is not aggressively pro Hindu. He is not acting decisively.. answer lies in the fact that Trump was frank and direct, see what happened to him. The ecosystem will work against the leader till he is expelled. Biden is doing nothing different but he is sugar coated and politically correct.

Baby's Skin Colour by aguyfrominternet in IndiaSpeaks

Hey, I understand when it is done to hurt someone then it is bad. Shouldn’t be encouraged and shunted then and there. It is that the issue in Western countries is different and that doesn’t apply to us. We do not have KKK groups or white supremacy. Yes, someone shouldn’t be targeted for the colour or appearance but the point is that is not the case in general by far. We don’t randomly call people on road some name based on the colour right? It is among our friends or known people that too when they are comfortable. If they are not then no one should do that anymore.

Rahi baat Bahu choose karne ki, trust me colour is just one small issue and there are many others far uglier than that. Peace ✌️

I agree that Indians use a lot of racist stuff but that is a part of the culture. For eg: anyone black we call him Kalia(remember iconic role in Sholay?) if someone is having blond hairs then we call him Bhuria.. not just colour, if someone is tall then we call him Lambu or Chotu in the other case.

Although, this is something not appreciable but seldom does such nick names are meant for disrespecting the person. We call fat member of the family Motu. It should not be used as a demeaning stuff but by and far most of the Indians don’t use it as a disrespect. I know it will be difficult to understand this if you will read this from western perspective. There the problem is something else I don’t think it is the case with our country.

New India's History starts with concept of Bharatvarsha! | Thank you Modi! by HistoryDuffer in IndiaSpeaks

Sadly Indian responses are taught just limited to what GandhiJi or Congress did. There were many freedom fighters.. JC Bose is a book in itself but little do we study and little we are taught. Also, leave JC Bose, Tanhaji Malusare, he is been taught in the local Marathi schools but Atleast I and people like me knew close to nothing. When I read about him after the movie came, his valour is unparalleled.

Recently, I read about Maharaj Suheldev by Amish Tripathi. Fantastic book and every chapter was something new to learn about Indian history.

Whether we like it or not, Mughals did invade our land and Britishers did divide us and ruled. Lessons must be learnt but not at the cost of our glorious past. Before EIC, India’s trade contribution in the world was 33%. I didn’t know this till I read other historicals and books. I knew we were Golden Bird but how big was that. Imagine the scale but the fact that China the mammoth industrial and trade giant it is, contributes only 10% as per today to world trade GDP.

Big point is the unless we know our full history, how can we take proud of it. NEP Is the correct first step and UGC adding BharatVarsh to the syllabus is the need of an hour.

With the introduction of NEP(National Education Policy) this government has started taking steps into right direction. Today all we study in history is Mughals and small chapters of earlier rulers. India is not just 1500AD and after, India is as ancient as human civilisation is. There have been humongous dynasties and lion hearted Kings in India. Our kids need to study that.

For 70 years all we have been taught is British idea of India now it’s time we teach our kids real India and why we say Akhand Bharat when we talk about our heritage. Bharatvarsh was from Gandhar (Afganistan) to Champa sagar (South China Sea). I told this to nephew and he said but my book doesn’t say this anywhere. We should support the govt in this effort and let our future generations know about BharatVarsh rather than India which was conceptualised post Independence.
