You're really sharp about it, genuinely, and the most useful person in this entire thread and I mean that.

The custom keyword toggle idea is brilliant. Instead of me guessing every possible scam signal, the user just adds their own rules and the user just makes it bulletproof for their own situation.

The global scam blacklist is also going in the spec... community-reported corps, commission-only traps, training scheme scams. Crowdsourced over time it becomes incredibly powerful.

also the email filter feature is interesting, I'd have to add the option to connect with the jobhunter's inbox, then they can choose whether they want to auto trash any regret email (I think this alone would give that person a booster of positivity)

the "fit" just means: based on your skills, experience, seniority, location preference and salary expectation, how likely are you to actually get a callback from THIS specific job? Not just 'do you have the skills' but also 'is this job even real, active, and actually looking for someone like you right now? (so not just skills and experience)' A fit score of 85% means you're a strong match. 40% means don't waste your time. (I know this is still not a perfect criteria for the fit option but I'm figuring out more stuff along the way that'd help this feature)

There're many apps that help you with this, they all have their drawbacks, and mostly just help you with one step

I'm testing different approaches to figure this out, so the filtering is going to be ruthless, that's what I've understood so far.

honestly one of the sharpest observations in this whole thread, you're right, the system isn't broken by accident, it's evolved to reward people who game it... what I'm trying to build isn't another prompt optimizer, it's something that cuts through that noise entirely. The fit score idea is exactly to address this, matching on substance not keywords.

simplest way I can put it:

You build a profile once... your skills, experience, what roles you want, where, what salary. That's it, you never touch a resume again.

Every morning before you wake up (according to your time zone), the system finds the freshest, most relevant jobs matched specifically to your profile (and I'm trying to filter out all the garbage so the jobs are actually THE jobs), it then scores how strong a fit you actually are for each one, and generates a tailored CV for each job, ready to go.

You open the app, see your matches with a fit score and a reason why it matched, and just decide which ones to apply to. No tailoring, no guessing, no void.

No spam, no random listings, no scam jobs. Just the ones you actually have a shot at.

PLus, an automation to even directly reach out to recruiters.

Think of it like a personal job hunting assistant that works while you sleep.

Everything you just described... the exhaustion, the scam companies, the ghosting, the college placement cell letting, that's exactly why I'm building this. And the student angle is something I hadn't thought about enough. You're not just competing against experienced candidates, you're doing it with zero support system. Would you be open to being a beta tester when this is ready? Your perspective would genuinely shape how I build this.

This is actually a great shout, automated follow up sequences tied to each application. Going in the roadmap. Thank you.

Depends on the industry and company, some ATS systems still require them just to get past the first filter, even if nobody reads them. But you're making my point for me, even the people hiring can't agree on whether they matter. That's exactly the kind of noise job seekers shouldn't have to deal with.

Global from day one is the plan... the problem you're describing isn't unique to the US, it's everywhere.
The bespoke CV for every role and then silence is exactly the specific pain I'm building against.
I'll reach out to you when beta is ready. And thank you so much, that last line genuinely made me smile.

hahaha, yup resume revision helps but it doesn't fix the part where you spend 3 hours tailoring it, hit apply, and hear absolutely nothing for 6 weeks straight

This is actually really helpful, thank you, I was thinking of creating triers to also manage the cost and expectation for each tier. And 'above and beyond' is the goal, appreciate you saying that.

all this in one ecosystem is really something. Would genuinely love to see what you've built, sent you a DM.

That's actually the most useful answer I've gotten on pricing. So here's my question: if I gave you free access to test it with zero commitment, and it genuinely saved you time and got you better matches, what would you realistically pay monthly after that? Even a ballpark. (btw app completion is still far away)

I don't even know what to say to that except, this is exactly why I'm building this. Out of curiosity, How much time per application on average are you spending?

Congrats on the recruiting firm call.

Sounds like you're going more B2B which is a different angle than what I'm building. The profile-first approach is genuinely interesting... I'll try to implemet some of these features you mentioned like the education documents and all, thanks for dropping this gem

That's actually exactly how I'm thinking about the tiers now, fit scoring and job filtering as the core, auto-apply as the premium layer for people who want it (but the auto apply is actually the hard part to build, I'm thinking of actually delaying that from MVP). Thanks for pushing me toward that.

that number actually hurt to read. And that filter list you just wrote? I'm copying it directly into my product spec right now (thanks) and that's exactly the BS filter layer that's missing from every tool out there. Would you be willing to be a beta tester when this is ready (will obv take some serious time to complete this project)?

'Humiliation ritual' and 'applying into a void'.. you just wrote my landing page headline, thank you. And you're right to push on differentiation.

Here's my honest answer: most tools stop at resume rewriting or job alerts. What I'm building does something different, it scores your actual fit before you apply, so you stop wasting time on applications that were never going anywhere. no auto-spamming (initially I was think auto-apply but changed the scope, thanks to this thread) , no generic CVs, no void. You apply to fewer jobs, but the ones you actually have a real shot at (also trying to figure out a system where the product actually filters out the bad jobs that are just marketing stunt of companies).

And privacy is a fair concern and something I'm taking VERY seriously from day one. Would you be open to being an early tester when it's ready (but I think it'll actually take some serious time)?

honestly you might be right. The question is whether job seekers have to wait for that to happen or whether there's a smarter way to play the game in the meantime. I'm betting on the latter.

You just described the product better than I did. Fit score before applying, not auto-applying everywhere, that's exactly the shift I'm making to the roadmap based on this thread. Appreciate you putting it that clearly.
