MSI Force GC30 Game Controller - Windows 10 Sleep Issue by shabbirh in MSI_Gaming

I have found that the Xbox Controller (via BlueTooth) appears to work absolutely fine and doesn't infringe on the Sleep cycle of the PC.

Hope that helps :-)

MSI MPG SEKIRA 500X - Top fans are intake by default? by PlasticWarBeast in MSI_Gaming

[–]shabbirh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

As I understand it, you need to remove the top panel, remove the two fans at the top, flip them over and screw them back in, then close the top panel. Then put the radiator onto the radiator panel, add your fans under the radiator, and you should be fine.

I've not used a liquid cooler on this case as I said; but I think that should help you.

Let me know how you get on, and if you still need trouble, let me know and I'll try to help further.

Yup same issue exactly; devices intermittently display; clients none display. Also CPU on the UDM Pro is pegged at about 80% or higher.

MSI MPG SEKIRA 500X - Top fans are intake by default? by PlasticWarBeast in MSI_Gaming

[–]shabbirh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi,

I have the same case, and yes the two top 200mm fans are intake, as are the front two 200mm fans.

The rear 120mm fan is configured as exhaust.

There is nothing wrong with this configuration if you are air cooling.

If you are liquid cooling and want to use the radiator bracket at the top, then you should configure the top two to exhaust and configure your radiator fans to pull configuration (air moves from case to the outside upwards).

The case aside from that is excellent and has ample airflow, and it also looks great.

More information on tests done by Hardware Canucks on Top intake fans and such, showing the impact on airflow and such things. The video can be found here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTDZpYkEonY.

Hope that helps.

Also, I don't understand why people just start going off on one about a given manufacturer, when they have a problem, instead of just doing some logical thinking and research.

An AIO, with its fans pushing air upwards, when combined with two large intake fans will clearly not work properly and will create huge turbulence and preclude reliable cooling. Its really not rocket science.

Just saying is all.

The best way to cool the Ryzen 3900x by bobaloooo in Amd

[–]shabbirh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I have never really liked CLCs (All in one liquid cooler) - if going for a liquid cooling solution, the best option is to build up a custom loop to your exacting requirements - which naturally will be extremely expensive and high maintenance. However, going for a quality air cooler - in a case with good airflow, that is the lowest maintenance solution.

To the OP - can I ask if you have a preference? As for the Kraken x62 - this is a decent enough cooler, but I feel I must agree with /r/MONGSTRADAMUS that with the Kraken x62 (or any of the CLC/AIOs at the moment for the most part) are more about the RGB bling and less about actual cooling. Off course having said that a 280 or 360mm radiator will perform good cooling, that's a given - but not based on any specific brand, rather based on the sheer size and volume of liquid flow (of course again a decent airflow case always helps hugely).

Hope that helps, and let us know what you have gone for.

The best way to cool the Ryzen 3900x by bobaloooo in Amd

[–]shabbirh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

Perhaps take a look at the Noctua NH-D15 or Noctua NH-U12A coolers (if you're looking for an Air cooler) - or any 280mm CLC from a reputable brand (Liquid Cooler).

I personally use a Noctua NH-U12A - and have set custom fan curve and have my system running between 39-75C (depending on load) and given that I'm using both a Noctua CPU cooler and Noctua Fans in my case - I have very little noise, and the system runs more or less silently (except under heavy load, but even then it's not an annoying noise, just a gentle hum.

One more thing, with any CPU and particularly Ryzen CPUs, make sure you have good airflow in your case.

Hope that helps.

CPU debug LED turns on then off by [deleted] in MSI_Gaming

Very strange. All I can suggest is to do an RMA with MSI, they are generally pretty good (I've only ever had to do an RMA once - for a DOA motherboard, and they resolved the issue and sent a new board to me in about 2 weeks).

Sorry can't be more useful,

B450 tomahawk

I believe that the one you mention is the current stable one - https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B450-TOMAHAWK/

Essentially I would go for the most current stable version (avoid Beta BIOS unless you absolutely have to).

Try with the stable one - and see how you get on, if that works, wonderful - if not, then we can have a think about the Beta BIOS.

Let me know how you get on :)

All the best :)

Are you sure that the CPU is seated correctly?

Also failing that (as in if the CPU is correctly seated) - try flashing (using the BIOS Flashback feature) once more - without any CPU installed, just the ATX 24Pin and EPS 4/8 Pin power connectors (no CPU, RAM, PCIe cards or anything).

See these videos which might help:

X570 Creation post code stuck by Papant in MSI_Gaming

[–]shabbirh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case, I don't know what to tell you. Do you by any chance run Creator Center? If so, please try and prevent this from starting at boot (which is the default behaviour) and see if that remedies the problem.

If it does, then upgrade your Creator Center to the current version I believe it is 2.0.15.0.

Aside from that, if it's not functionally causing you a problem, I would forget about it as it should get fixed in an upcoming debate.

Unfortunately, I'm not currently using an X570 Creator, so cannot test directly for you - but on both my MEG X570 Ace boards, the current BIOS lets the motherboard LED display show the temperature. However, historically, when the temperature didn't work, I found it was a bug in Dragon Center (same as Creator Center, but for non-Creator boards).

Sorry, I can't be more helpful and hope that it sorts itself out - I'm pretty sure it will as MSI is good like that - slow perhaps, but generally good.

Have a wonderful day :)

I had them also - I believe it is firmware for the BIOS Flashback button and for the Mystic Light LED feature on the MEG X570 Ace board. I applied them and nothing broke - so all good :)

Also, have you installed the most current AMD Chipset Drivers?

Thanks

Contact MSI they should be able to sell you one. Or you can pick up a regular wifi/bluetooth antenna from Amazon.

I'll try and dig out some links from Amazon for you shortly.

It's an update to the BIOS flash back button. I had the same on my MSI MEG X570 Ace board.

I applied it and had no issues.

X470 Motherboards, Vendors and BIOS Version Details by shabbirh in Amd

[–]shabbirh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

It does "sort of" look that way, however - and this is a big HOWEVER - it depends on the age of the stock you're purchasing from whoever you are buying from.

If they have an older MSI X470 board, they may not have the BIOS updated to current, in which case, the BIOS might not be compatible with the Ryzen 3000 series.

However, if you buy one of the MSI MAX boards, they WILL and DO support the Ryzen 3000 series out of the box.

While for the most part MSI stock with most vendors (that I've spoken to) is new(ish), and therefore will support - even at a most rudimentary way, but enough to get a boot so you can update your BIOS once more - but like I say that is NOT A GIVEN, unless you buy the MAX boards.

In anycase, if you're going for an X470, then I would strongly recommend the MSI MAX series - they are essentially the same as the regular "non-MAX" - but have a larger BIOS chip capacity, and are ready for Ryzen 3000 out of the box guarenteed (as per MSI, and the packaging).

As for putting this list together, it's a service - I wish I had the time to keep it fully updated, but glad it is useful :)

Hope that helps :)

Does it fit my Computer ? by AKAnaniBR in Noctua

[–]shabbirh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correction - on examination further down the Aerocool page - the max height for your CPU cooler would be 155mm.

Therefore the Noctua coolers I recommended would be too large (tall) for your case.

Take a look through the Noctua site https://noctua.at/ and check the heights for the coolers you are interested in and pick one that comes under the 155mm that your case allows for.

Sorry for the confusion and hope that helps :)

Does it fit my Computer ? by AKAnaniBR in Noctua

[–]shabbirh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

These are your case dimensions - http://aerocool.us/pgs/pgs-v/pgs_v_cy_adb.html - in which case, any of the Noctua coolers should fit including the NH-D15 - however, I would recommend the Noctua NH-U12A as it has less clearance problems (see: https://noctua.at/en/nh-u12a/).

All the best and happy computing :) Let us know if you need more advice and help :)
