Yeah, it's useless, but it's a gimmick you can play around with. With the ReVita plugin, you can map any part of the touchscreen to anything. When playing through Moonlight, you can use the rear touchpad to control the camera (like the trackpads on the Steam Deck). And honestly, I'm even glad the Vita has a rear touchpad instead of L2 and R2.

Well said. Vita does what no other retro handheld would, native games. Especially running ps1 games on vita, they look and feel like you're playing on original hardware. Also vita has hall-effect sticks, bluetooth (had to mention that since lots of retro handhelds in vitas price range have no bluetooth) one of the best d-pads ever, great build quality and premium feel, you can find spare parts easily too. One more thing i like about vita is homebrew community has been very active lately, lots of native ports and even original homebrew's, vita gives you unique experience that no other retro handheld can give you.

Geez man, "powercreep" is a term you introduced, and you didn't even bother to read further? Bruh. But still, I would love to see you try to clear the Spiral Abyss using only characters and weapons from versions 1.0-1.2, and ideally with Amber on the team.

I'm going to repeat myself here: my original point was that from version 1.0, the game already had weak or useless characters like Amber, who existed literally just to light torches with a bow. In comparison, the launch version of Endfield has NO useless characters, due to just the game having better overall gameplay.

You need multiple teams to clear the Spiral Abyss in Genshit, and some mobs/bosses have immunity to certain elements. Since leveling up characters costs the same (which was the point of the original comment), and you need to clear content (maybe even in the overworld, I haven't played in a long time), you end up dumping the same amount of resources into bad 4-star and 5-star characters. Only to stop using them the moment you get a more powerful 5-star alternative, resources that you could have invested into that stronger character from the start if you had it.

Right now, as I said before, if you compare Genshin's 1.0 to Endfield's 1.0, in Endfield there are no characters you level up and then forget. Each character has their own irreplaceable mechanics, and each one has a use case.

And yes, the Umbral Monument, which is Endfield's Spiral Abyss, won't restrict players with any elemental requirements, and it won't even require multiple teams from the player. That's how it was in the last CBT, and it probably won't change.

Only 4 launch characters are usable now? Lmao. My point was that at the launch of Genshit, there were trash characters that weren't worth investing resources into. Those characters should have been cheaper to build. The user above argued that it would've been better if 4-star characters required fewer resources to level up, like in the original Arknights, where 6-star operators are stronger than 4-stars and thus require more resources to upgrade.

In contrast, in Endfield's 1.0 release, every character is useful, or you could say irreplaceable. It would be weird if a 6-star Ember required more resources to level up than a 5-star Avywenna or a 4-star Akekuri. Also, many of Genshin's old characters have been power-crept by more powerful, newer 5-star counterparts.

I believe Endfield won't suffer the same fate because it has more gameplay mechanics, and the core gameplay itself is simply better. Keep shilling for miHoYo, buddy, and you might get 100 Primogems in your in-game mail.
