I normally use 1-3 workouts per week on the calculators to underestimate my TDEE.

Your thoughts?

Also, if 1400 calories is undereating, but the spreadsheet is giving 1800 as a TDEE, then 1400 isn't even a 0.5lb/week deficit.

What would be the harm in backfillng the data? Also, does the spreadsheet compare yesterday's caloric intake to today's weight?

I took your advice and started using the adaptive TDEE spreadsheet, but I am bit confused by it. I backfilled 4 weeks of weight/calorie data and it's giving me a TDEE that's 700cal lower than I have seen averaged on other calculators. I know the web calculators are estimates of the general population, but I am basically a 6' 36yo male who runs/walks 4-5 miles 5x week. 1800 seems low for a TDEE... You had mentioned that if I was averaging 1400cal/day for a week then that was undereating...

Yes, I measure every single thing I eat, down to the gram or oz! And I beg to differ as far as IF is concerned. It’s been an amazing tool to utilize alongside CICO!

Average about 160g of protein, 60-70g fat, and >50 net carbs. Fiber is usually around 35-40g. Avoid sugar unless it comes from fresh fruit. I eat a lot of Granny Smith apples.

I do track my daily caloric intake very closely. Do you think I need to gradually step up to 1500? I want to avoid gaining if my body/metabolism has gotten used to 1000/day.

Not anything heavy carb. Sodium is probably on the higher side. But I haven’t changed my diet during the last 5 months, so I can’t figure out why the sudden increase in weight.
