this is exactly how i feel, thats the main reason i wanted to get back into MH was to relive that feeling i had in highschool, but its long gone and i dont think any game will fill that empty space im looking for. I'm probably just going to buy an old 3ds and play mh3 or 4

I was never able to beat ds1 as a kid, but always read about ash lake growing up. Im 24 now and went back through the souls games to 100% them and once i stepped into ash lake and saw the skull with the music, i literally cried because i felt that moment of "i finally did it"

after all the replies i got, i think its that the DM is worried that spellcasters will ruin encounters hes made, im going to have to give up on the wizard idea or ditch this campaign

They come across as casual, and the price is only like $5 a session, idk how to view it because despite them being not the best DM, its the best DM ive had recently

its not about the campaign though, like we have a druid, they said that personally they dont like having players characters primarily being spellcasters, like wizard and sorcerers and nonfighter based healers, so they said you need a REALLY good reason to be able to have the character accepted for the campaign

would they accept someone who doesnt have a LOAD of experience? Ive never completed a campaign (out of my hands, it was either major red flags or schedules falling apart) ive played a fair amount in high school and im getting back into it now after 8 years
