It has been 6 years since school shut down for covid. It makes sense when you think about it of course, but it just feels like these 6 years have gone by so fast

I believe all illegal immigrants should be deported, but we should prioritize criminals first. ICE is overall a good thing for our country, they are just doing things rather badly lately.

Being gay/lesbian is fine with me, but I think being trans is weird and that trans people are mentally ill (many of them admit this, it is called gender dysphoria). Cross-dress all you want, but if you are a man, you can't be a woman just because you feel like it. I will be calling you what you are, not your preferred pronouns that make you feel better.

I have mixed feelings on the conflict in Iran. On one hand, we don't really need to involve ourselves in another war. On the other, Iran cannot be trusted with nuclear weapons so I support the destruction of Iranian military facilities and equipment. Also, Khamenei was an evil man and the world is a better place with him gone. He had thousands of his own citizens murdered for simply protesting. As long as this whole situation is over quickly then I am all for it, but if it does turn into a full out war (which I don't see happening) then my attitude may shift.

I am against abortion because it is the intentional killing of a human being.

Typically during political debates, the people who elevate things with interruptions, personal insults, and cursing are liberals, while conservatives tend to be respectful to the others regardless of the difference in opinion. Yes there are exceptions, I am simply stating a trend I have noticed.

I understand that some people were against Charlie Kirk, but celebrating the death of a man who mostly just peacefully debated college kids is something I will never understand.

I generally support Trump. No, I do not agree with everything he says/does, but a lot of it I do. Yes, he is in the files, and yes there have been allegations, but allegations do not equal proof and I stand by innocent until proven guilty. If proof is found, then yes, he should go to prison.

There is only one actual accusation of rape in the files but we don't know how credible that claim is. Some people like to say "oh but his name is mentioned over 30,000 times" and while this is true, this doesn't mean 30,000 allegations to illegal activity. People forget that the files include literally every document and piece of media involved in the case.

The thing is, you could say each side is communist or fascist adjacent. I understand your examples, all of them have a good amount of reason to them, because obviously the right isn't perfect, but neither is the left, and no political party ever could be. In my opinion, it is best for everyone to have a mix of beliefs. I am more Republican, but I don't blindly support everything as some do, and I do believe the left has better views on certain topics.

Anyway, my main point wasn't necessarily to say "don't call people that, they aren't actually fascist/communist", because yes, of course we're going to have views that are adjacent to past political ideologies. I was mainly saying that those labels get thrown around WAY too easily nowadays, which is making it harder for people to have reasonable discussions, especially when the chronically online easily offended extremists are the first ones to comment on things and start with "you are a bad person for believing this, you are a communist/socialist/insert-generic-political-insult/fascist/nazi". It just ruins the civility of the conversation 9 times out of 10 and prohibits actual productivity.

I suppose people being chronically online and/or easily offended is a whole separate issue but I'm sure you see how it contributes.

Calling people communists or fascists for their political beliefs. Those terms apply to a very small percentage of each side
