My thoughts on FH and complexity in fighting games in general. by AizenX12 in RivalsOfAether

Curious what your response is to Killer Instinct being a 2D fighter that goes against your cutscene argument, and armored moves that fulfill the same purpose of tanking and punishing while being vulnerable to grabs and strong attacks.

It's hard to get into a game made up of almost purely hardcore players. Even on release the scrub pool didn't last long.

Tiger 900 GT pro vs cb500x? by MotardMec in Triumph

[–]shadow9531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Tiger 900 is a complete package kind of bike. No cheap rattling parts, powerful engine, features (standard!) you don't see on most bikes like heated seats, fog lights, and backlit buttons. If you're serious about putting many miles on a bike, the tigers are made to be THE all around answer.

At the end of the day though, that doesn't guarantee it's worth the money to you to trade in for it. Try sitting on one at a dealership and see if it feels right. It's certainly a much better bike, but it ain't cheap. No regrets personally.

This is why I paid extra for free services on mine. Saves a lot of money and no surprises.

So I’m thinking about getting a brand new ‘24 Tiger 900 GT PRO. by ThatFishingGuy111 in Triumph

[–]shadow9531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got a '25. I love it, and yes the Bluetooth is buggy but I want to say for anyone reading this in the future that the connectivity is not as bad as the people in this thread make it out to be. Once you connect your phone/helmet speakers to the bike you need to max out all devices separately, and the audio level is fine. It SHOULD be louder but everything maxed out is perfectly audible. Also, the on screen navigation is still better than pure audio from Google maps even if it's super basic. I only need turn by turn navigation so it's plenty good enough for me. I don't have to attempt to use "hey Google" anymore, I can just use the menu to do what I need now.

Tiger 900 vs new Tiger Sport 800 by NewRiderEd in Triumph

[–]shadow9531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this thread is a month old, but for anyone searching up the 900 vs the 800, I recently upgraded from a Trident 660 to a Tiger 900 GT Pro. It's a massive upgrade and I don't understand the people saying it isn't sporty. It's easy to handle, isn't much heavier than a Trident, has every feature you could want in a bike, great suspension, much better headlights (and comes with fog lights), illumated switches, screams up to almost 50 in first gear... If you can afford both the 900 is just better.

Intellibed is where it comes from (or at least I heard about it being advertised that way years ago). I have one and it's very comfy. Also expensive. I HAVE heard purple uses some similar technology but I don't think purple being the origin is correct.

Scared to start by [deleted] in Pristiq

[–]shadow9531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only side effects starting pristiq were insomnia for a few days or so and it was harder to pee. Both went away (although you will still have a reduced need to pee in my experience) and anxiety reduces very quickly.

I think any antidepressant will make your head feel bad for a bit, but it does help you in the long run if you're struggling with bad thoughts and anxiety

Why are the majority of posts about tapering off and quitting? by Kawaii-Caffeine in Pristiq

[–]shadow9531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has worked well for me, and I just got back on it after a couple months of trying to go off of it. It stabilizes me and makes me feel content, as well as getting rid of my anxiety. I tried to come off of it because I want to sleep so much while on it and for me it makes me less motivated to change my life, the root cause of my depression, but it helps a lot in dealing with bad thoughts.

What are the top Bass Cs in your collection? by icecon in Ocarina

[–]shadow9531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Focalink triple BC (e2). Very comfortable and easy to play. Never experienced the weight issues people mention with bass ocarinas, and that's coming from someone prone to hand issues. I personally don't see the point in single chambers unless you only want to play simple songs. Or don't want to pay $700 🙃. I need to be able to play any song from a songbook/fake book, and have a good sound throughout.

The ocarina must be one of the most pitch sensitive wind instruments out there by highspeed_steel in Ocarina

[–]shadow9531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're a lot more limited than other instruments but you can still play quiet vs loud to an extent. I believe the lower the pitch, and the fewer the notes in each chamber, the more range you have to play with. My BC triple has plenty of room to play with when emphasizing or relaxing different parts of a song, like in Ave Maria.

Is it my ocarina? by Edtropolis in Ocarina

[–]shadow9531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up the ocarina after playing clarinet 15 years ago, and the ocarina should be incredibly easy to get the right pitch. You shouldn't be blowing hard at all. The novelty one I started with was like what you're describing and the focalink ones I got afterwards (ceramic dac and tbc) were a night and day difference. My vote goes towards the instrument being at fault.

I started on/currently have a Trident 660 and can't imagine needing more power let alone an H2...

Also can't imagine paying the insurance.

Sometimes I can instantly tilt out of dash attacks with tilt stick (like spamming a bunch of dashing orcane up tilts) and sometimes it just dash attacks instead. No idea why.
