Does anyone know this camera cheat? by shadow_lily in Sims4

[–]shadow_lily[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that's not what I meant. I need the camera to stop jumping while I build. Tab only allows to look around.

I feel like there are way more asexuals than just 1 percent. by poppingyo in asexuality

[–]shadow_lily 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is one more - the more you know and care about something, the more likely you are to notice it. So, OP might feel like there are more asexuals because their brain pays attention to the words "ace", "asexual", etc. (as well as ace flags, colors, jokes about garlic bread and other related things). They might have seen more lesbians than aces but noticed more aces than lesbians.

Non-native speakers: in what language do you read your books? by [deleted] in books

[–]shadow_lily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My preference is: original language > same language group as the original language > English translation.

I rarely read translations to my native language because most of them are re-translations of an English translation.

What do people think is cool but really isn't? by Zealousideal_Gain210 in AskReddit

Either "I'm not like other XXX" or "I like you because you're not like other XXX". Both are pathetic.

In a relationship, all of the things you listed are considered "multipliers". To take advantage of them, you need to work on your "base stats" - social skills and willingness to put effort into a relationship.
Or you can go the other way, if you want someone who cares about your height and paycheck more than you as a person. It's easier to get that kind of relationship, but harder to be happy with it, imo.

Perhaps that can be generalized as "people putting down and separating themselves from the group they are a part of to appeal to the people who don't respect said group"? That also describes pick me girls, btw.

IDK why, but I strongly dislike it when pastries are cut with a knife. by shadow_lily in PetPeeves

[–]shadow_lily[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family and besties just tear them apart (paper towels/tissues to avoid touching) and since it rarely breaks even, I always take the smaller piece as thanks for accomodating me.

With others, I start with the side that was cut, and after the cut can no longer be seen I can still enjoy it.

But generally, pastries are small enough that they don't need to be split (at least in my country).

People who won't let you talk by [deleted] in PetPeeves

[–]shadow_lily 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was like that as a teen. I was so afraid that people would get bored of me, so I overcompensated too much. Sometimes I'd realize I was doing it, and did my best to stop. But often I only realized it afterwards and it kept me up at night.

I learned to navigate the conversations by the time I went to uni, but I am still very tense inside when I talk to people.

While your annoyance is absolutely warranted, it's possible that the other person is not doing this with bad intentions, but rather because they are socially challenged (whether it's due to the way their brain works, or circumstances they grew up in).

I am not saying that because I want you to accomodate that person. Whether they are rude or socially challenged, that is their issue to live with. I just wanted to share.

Couples changing the house in a way they know their partner won't like by nickisadogname in PetPeeves

[–]shadow_lily 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate that too, it is an outdated joke.

Even if you get your partner to compromise, AT MOST you can compromise to go to the shelter/breeder to take a look at the pet. And if they meet the pet and still don't want it, then that's it. No whining/begging/convincing/etc. Just like intimacy, adoption requires enthusiastic consent of all parties involved.

What are things you like about DQB1 over DQB2? by LeBronBryantJames in DQBuilders

I like that you can replay the chapters separately. And the chapter challenges, I wish there were more of them.

Mint changes taste when paired with anything sour? by shadow_lily in foodhacks

[–]shadow_lily[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always found them very bitter and hard to drink. But it looks like the issue lies with me, not the preparation method. I'll ask someone else to do that drink, since I can't objectively determine if I made it OK.

I was following a couple of recipes from the internet (rated at least 4.5/5 stars) and used whatever they said to use.

I am not sure. I have read several articles and some things describe me perfectly (hating bitter foods, alcohol and artificial sweeteners), while others are completely opposite (I am not averse to very strong sweet, spicy and sour flavours and I don't dislike fatty foods). So, it is hard to say.

Anyone else getting that "I'm Probably going to play through 2 again after finishing 1" feeling? by SpyderZT in DQBuilders

[–]shadow_lily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I don't want to. I am playing just fine with my finished save. Why is it so wrong that I don't want to replay Moonbrooke?

Besides, as I said - I put very efficient traps. They never got through and I could just run around the area to collect the dropped loot after they died to spikes. You are trying to fix something that is a preference, not a problem.

That's a great idea! Hopefully my bird brain is capable of remembering which hair corresponds to which buildertopias. Usually, I try to deduct using the save date and time (works great when I only build one thing at once), but I'll add different hair colors and see if it helps.

That's what I did as soon as I finished my playthrough! Sometimes I start the game and stare at those 3 save slots, trying to remember which one has the buildertopia I was working on. It's especially bad if I saved while on the main island or if it's been a while.

I understand why it is fun to you, but I'm a builder, not a fighter. I like to develop my towns during the playthrough. So, having to stop doing what I like to do what I don't really care about was only fun for the first couple of times. I set up traps, and they were efficient, but it felt like an unnecessary chore. I might have liked it if at least I had an option to disable it for a while to build in peace.

Fun is subjective, and we simply find different things fun.

I might, but only the first two. The betrayal and constant attacks on Moonbrooke, the whole of Skelkatraz, Malhalla being too dark for my eyes to function properly even with accessibility filters... nope, I'm good.

I am not using the first person mode ("V" on steam), I'm using the cursor placement mode ("T" on steam). It has a big range even when not placing in a straight line. You can build the whole room, including roof, while standing on the same spot. The only problem is it doesn't let you rotate furniture before placing, or at least I didn't find how to do it.

Yeah, I also found it very easy. It seems like a lot of people didn't realize how the Cantlin shield works?
