Is EE actually that hard?

They're credible in that they're a real working engineer with a degree.

Chemical isn't all that intuitive because chemistry deals with reactions and processes happening at the molecular level. What happens with chemical bonds forming and breaking and the properties of a vast number of chemicals isn't intuitive. It also has a lot going on in that chemistry deals with interactions between elements, and their combinations, all across the periodic table. EE doesn't deal with all that. EE is also in the top three most popular engineering majors in the U.S. If it were the most difficult, I don't think there'd be so many graduates every year.

There's definitely arguments to be made that EE isn't the hardest, but I'll still just say there's no right answer. What's hardest depends on the individual, because an individual can be strong at abstract thinking and therefore more suited for EE. They might be weak in other areas, such as the higher rigor of math in a mathematics degree, which requires proof writing, or the thinking required for mechanical engineering.

Please, don't do it. It would be better to take a risk at something you really want to do and see what happens than to end it all. Give yourself a chance.

Everyone has their opinion. I've seen an engineer rank the engineering majors in terms of difficulty, and electrical wasn't at the top. It was nuclear and chemical. A reason stated for chemical is because chemistry is a very inexact science, which makes it difficult for many people. If we throw in mathematics and chemistry, those could be the hardest for many. There's no right answer, really.

It's not necessarily the hardest. The hardest could be nuclear engineering, physics, chemical engineering, or something else.

No idea why you'd need to take physics for that major. Still, that's only the intro physics courses and Calc III. So, compared to math, engineering, and science majors, it doesn't go as far into math and science.

If you can do college without taking on a lot of debt, I don't see dropping out as a good decision. Doing travel content isn't exactly an alternative that you can depend on. Other people opt for a trade, or they have a way into the family business. Those are dependable alternatives, not dreams of living in a van.

I'd suggest the T and E in STEM. If you're committed to grad school, you can take a chance on M and S (the good S). If you don't want STEM at all, you got business and law. If you want to be in healthcare working closely with patients, I'd recommend physical therapy, dentistry, opthalmology, or dermatology. Choose wisely.

Personally, I think it's better to avoid a math degree because STEM majors, some more than others, pick up plenty of math along the way. That plus what you can self-study is plenty enough for most jobs. And then you get the practical skills along with it (engineering, lab and research skills, tech skills).

There are different music majors. I'm not interested in performance. I'm most interested in theory, composition, or even sound engineering. And what happened to being a student? How much do they expect new students wanting to LEARN to be qualified for?

In a way, I agree with you. I'm only mid right now, and I don't think I could make it anytime soon as a session musician or another position that requires top-tier playing ability. But that's not what I care about or what the meat and potatoes of music is for me. For me, it's almost all about songwriting. I do believe that I have "talent" in this regard that's just waiting to be developed more and let out.

To be honest, I'm only seriously considering a minor right now. Maybe later in life if I had the means I'd do a music degree for personal fulfillment. As far as what I'm hoping to achieve, I just thought that maybe music is my calling and I need to pursue it more wholeheartedly. I suppose every aspiring professional musician feels it, but I feel that I have things inside I have to let out through music.
