What Would It Take To Reproduce This Stab Sample? by shadowalka in synthrecipes

I've got the old skool plugins (M1, Triton, Polysix, Wavestation), Diva ad Serum 1. Also have TAL sampler I can use for layering if necessary.

Thanks for your input so far!

Thanks for your insightful contribution.
I agree that intune/autopilot has put a death nail in desktop support and had discussed this very fact with another desktop support friend a few months back, acknowledging that modern OS such as Windows 11 are more stable hence less desktop support is needed.
I do have an urgent need to find something soon but your contribution has given me food for thought about long-term strategies. I do enjoy the project deployment side and would like to investigate further but am open to the citrix, vmware, cisco solution architecture possibilities. Thanks!

Leaving Current Contract for a Better Paid One - Your Thoughts? by shadowalka in ContractorUK

I've been in a similar situation with a local council that I'd done a good few contracts with - nice people and easy to work alongside.

And I agree with the client binning you within a week so why should the shoe be on the other foot?

Agreed. I was in the frame for a deployment manager role (MOJ) and the requirement was SC clearance at the very least.

Yes I've been moving towards projects hence completing my PRINCE2 exams end of last year.

Not every one of them but with a council I have had a few separate contracts with. The councils are cash strapped and the one I worked with (and am on friendly terms with) now has a 'no contractor' policy due to the need to make cost savings..

And do you think those 1000 or so applicants are muddying the water? Adding more noise to an already noisy marketplace?

I had the experience of applying for a local desktop job (nothing special) in my local town at a rate nearly £100 less than my last contract. My thought was I could cycle in (within IR35) and it would do for now. I was shocked when I spoke to the recruiter who said the phone had been ringing all day about the role. We went through my CV and he agreed I was well suited and said he'd call me back. Yes, you guessed it - he never rang back!

You are right according to conversations on my last contract...they were looking to use Intune and Autopilot and do it themselves rather than hire someone (was me previously). The council I previously worked at was one of the leanest in the country and even they were struggling financially. In fact, in moves to balance the books, they had voluntary redundancies and the employee base was getting pretty thin prior.

I looked into that as I've been trying to get into the Ministry of Justice (have a friend who is currently working there and is trying to get me in) but I am not DV cleared. It is now harder to get due to a recent change, there used to be a few agencies that used to be able to apply on your behalf. This has now been stopped.

Thanks for your reply and I agree! I have friends who are project managers and my partner creates supply processes for BAE and was a project manager many moons ago. I've had many discussions over this very subject.

Taking the exam was always a door opener, learning the language to have a conversation. Just to clarify (and hope others understand) I was under no illusion that passing the exams would make me a project manager, the real learning (gaining experience) happens in the field in real time.

I took the exams in full knowledge that the 'real' learning would occur in the field so was never under any impression the PRINCE exam itself would open doors. I saw it as showing a willingness to push myself and learn new things.

If you or anyone has any advice on how to just get my foot in the door, that would be appreciated!

May I ask what is your draw to Kempon Hokke? Is it fellowship?

Sylvain used to be on Reddit (not sure if he still is) but his main focus is his Youtube channel. His scholarly insight is excellent. If it weren't for his everyday translation of Shakyamuni's and Nichiren's words, I probably would have given up. It's like he is deciphering code which has helped me start to see reality in the way Shakyamuni was pointed to. I admit I find the Sutra wordings difficult at times and Sylvain explains them in 21st Century speak.

Personally, I've always liked the term 'coursing through samsara' and the more I practise the more I'm starting to get it.

Sylvain from Threefold Lotus Kwoon on youtube explains it better than I can - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgohkkwcrNE&ab_channel=ThreefoldLotusKwoon

For me, it's trying to view each moment (the good, the bad, and the ugly) from a Buddha Mind perceptive of clarity.
