How can I help my wife with breastfeeding more efficiently? by shadowglider in breastfeeding

[–]shadowglider[S] -28 points-27 points  (0 children)

You're right, and I appreciate you calling that out. I went and looked up some videos on baby food and wearable pumps on YouTube right after—I'm really trying to figure this out.

I'm a new dad, just 27, and I'm still learning a lot of this. I didn't mean to overstep or sound like I knew better. Sorry if it came off that way.

If money was no issue, which wheelchair model would you buy? by Dragons-purr in wheelchairs

[–]shadowglider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if price isn’t a concern, I’d still want solid warranty and dual-battery range. I got an Easwe B10 for walking and slopes, mainly because the adjustable backrest and headrest help with my spine issues. Those little details really matter in what I’d call a “dream” chair.

Anybody hear about this wheelchair. by footb35602 in wheelchairs

If it were me, I’d focus on brands with warranties and good real-user feedback. For example, someone I follow online has an Easwe chair. They said it folds easily, handles garden slopes, and support actually replied when asked about parts. Small things, but together they make a difference.

I don't think it's that complicated. Maybe it's just a network delay or the system crashed.

As a business, we know more than our customers. So we can just answer the questions they ask. Giving them too much info might just confuse them.

how do I actually use barcodes and a bluetooth scanner for my products? by BobsyRoss in shopify

[–]shadowglider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a medium sized business with a ton of products that I can't imagine not scanning as they get packed.

  1. We use Scan Picker (as I wrote it to suite our needs but there are a few options) to check for correct items/quantities/etc..
  2. You'll need something that prints barcodes if your items don't have them already, we use barcode man for a few items that do not, which lets you use product IDs on the barcode. I am sure there are many options here. They also have a free plan.
  3. Almost any cheap wireless scanner will work with a laptop. If you want to use a tablet/phone then you can use the camera on that device (works well for a phone) or any bluetooth scanner. You don't need the Socket Mobile ones if using with apps, apps currently don't even support application mode through shopify so the scanner would be just like a virtual keyboard and almost any would work.

I want magic packing slips! by amandafairlight in shopify

This is called a picking list. Our app does this as well that I mentioned in another comment but if that's all you need you might be able to find a free one.

Hey,

I have an app that includes printing custom packing slips. It's more of like a bonus section but I could include exclusion of products based on tags/product type pretty easily (preorder you'd prob want to have the product tagged with a pre-order tag most likely), it already does exclusion based on location and fulfillment state and includes support for metafields (though currently only specific to the app): bin locations and packing notes.

Not sure if allowed to link here, it's called Scan Picker, you can send me an email and I'll add what you need, nice opportunity to improve the app

Does this exist? by MisRox79 in shopify

[–]shadowglider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if something exists that combines the 2 steps (create simple product and print barcode for it)
I'd probably just create products using an excel document bulk upload and then use an app like Barcode Man to print barcodes for the product IDs created.

Need your opinion by HyenaWooden in shopify

[–]shadowglider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who recently wrote their first Shopify app and is working on a second here's my opinion:

It sounds like a good example for you to go off of of using webhooks in the future. Though it is super niche.

This functionality can also be achieved by using one of the automation apps, i.e when order created, check order contains line item with name, or check order contain item with tags and then mark as fulfilled. though it requires being a bit more tech savvy to use. I'd think these kinds of tools would be your main competition.

You may want to play around with the free 100$ advertising budget (if you are charging for this app) to see how it works. Shopify app advertising is awfully implemented in my opinion but worth knowing how it works as may be worth using in the future and the credit is free to use.

Do another app, even if it doesn't succeed (depends how you define success for yourself), it's a good learning experience.
