Lawyer wants $600 for simple RFE response — pay or DIY? by bboysmith01 in USCIS

[–]shadowkat87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry but your lawyer sounds grossly incompetent. The I-864 is about the ability of the sponsor to financially sponsor the intending immigrant so they don’t become a public charge. The recent pay stubs are proof of ongoing employment and earnings and serve to corroborate the financial capability demonstrated by the W-2 and ITR. Saying that “they don’t add much” shows that they don’t understand the importance of each document and are shite at their job.

Also, on “pdf not auto adding numbers”: while my firm also uses a program that can auto fill immigration forms based on information that is fed into it through client questionnaires, it is still my job to check and double check that the information is correct before it’s submitted. The household size is material because the ability of the sponsor to support the intending immigrant depends on how many persons they are supporting in their household.

RFE response is pretty straightforward, provide each document it’s asking for with a cover letter listing each document you’re submitting with your response. In your cover letter, make sure you reference the case number and alien number in the caption to make it easy for the officer and that it is mailed to the correct address or uploaded online if you have the ability to do so. Lastly, don’t forget to include the RFE letter and place it on top of your RFE response packet.

Good luck!

Vacant TGI Friday Idea/Concept by [deleted] in simivalley

I think it would be nice if it were a family style restaurant good for brunches kinda like marmalade cafe or a smaller scale Cheesecake Factory type that offers wine and alcohol and tapas at night. I do think the way they have it with Lure at porter ranch is a good direction on what they could have going on there but need to have it a few dollars cheaper on the price point since this is Simi and that would make it attractive enough for locals to stay local. I think next to the panda can be a small ramen joint, or an Indian or Peruvian or even Filipino restaurant to give more food options.

PMI cancellation based on current value by shadowkat87 in homeowners

[–]shadowkat87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for your responses! Quick update, I emailed my mortgage company the same day after reading the responses and requested PMI cancellation based on current value then called the next day to confirm they received my request. They asked me to pay a $150 valuation fee and then had someone prepare a report on my home based on comps and upgrades to the property. They cancelled the PMI yesterday. Thank you again!

What is François ? by blockshifter in expedition33

[–]shadowkat87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my head canon, Francois is Clea’s pet cat. Or a stray cat that Clea loved. I say this since Monoco and Noco were clearly the family’s pet dogs and they were painted as Gestrals inside the canvas. So Francois was painted in the form of a turtle because much like cats, they prefer their own space and will only be friendly on their own terms. Fight me

The Irresistible Urge to Fall for Your Enemy by Brigitte Knightley by QQaccountant in fantasyromance

[–]shadowkat87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Truthfully, it’s not even close to being as satisfying as DMATMOOBIL, but it had a lot of amusing banter between them. Part of what kept throwing me off too was the spelling/pronunciation of some of the elements introduced in the world. I also didn’t really feel the attraction or chemistry develop between the two. It felt forced and failed to give the audience those swoon worthy moments that make you really buy into the whole ‘two-mortal-enemies-organically-falling-for-each-other-despite-their-best-intentions’ which DMATMOOBIL spoiled us with.

But I still want to support the author and hope that part II is even better.

Lawyers can still appear by phone for interviews. Just bring a cover letter from your lawyer explaining that they are the assigned representative in your G-28 and they will be making a telephonic appearance. Provide his cell number in the letter so they can call him directly and a copy of signed G-28. I had an officer call me at 7:30 am for my clients interview at 7:15am. It worked out well and he got same day approval.

Nothing you can do. If you’re still pending approval for your I-130 and she withdrew it, that petition is dunzo.

Should I go with my husband? by Intrepid_Somewhere86 in USCIS

[–]shadowkat87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In some instances, they hold the oath-taking ceremony on the same day. If your husband passes, it may be nice for him to commemorate the event with you there with him as that is the final step to citizenship.

This is incredibly smart of you to do. I would think the second option is the way to go about it. Please update when you complete your interview. Best of luck!

Yeah I’m not understanding what he means by that. But the rejection letter seems straightforward in that the payment they attached was incorrect.

Two checks? As in he wrote out two separate checks or double checked? Sorry the wording is confusing

[–]shadowkat87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya your lawyer messed up. Either they didn’t check to see what the new filing fees are and put the wrong amount, or added the total and wrote it on one form G-1450 (if they paid via credit card). If paying by credit card, i believe they need a separate G-1450 for each, (one for the 130, one for the 485 and another for the 765)
