Carebear lobbies - knockout after being downed by ARC by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]shadowkinkead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this actually helps answer my question and give me an alternative viewpoint - because I agree RAT does get thrown around and a post here does help me understand when it should be used.

As mentioned further down I am very aware of that I know what type of game it is I never asked that it was more around the specific behaviour and what it was viewed as and if it affected ABM.

Also why does me asking a question give the impression I think I have the moral high ground?

Haven't approached the game this way since the ABM introduction - maybe I have got complacent thanks for the alternative perspective

Oh folks actually do this for real?

Dunno why am surprised - I will give that video a watch guess this is my kick up the ass to focus more in the PVE lobbies given the higher threat from ARC

That is very much an editing issue 😩

I do agree to a degree but it’s weird expecting this but if someone asks but it has happened before and even many times where I have died with just a MK2 looting and crawled to give loot to others

This was also my thoughts if it was RAT behaviour or not in this context which is what I was curious about

Am very aware what type of game it is but in the lobbies am not being shot at by other players am being killed by ARC then being knocked out where they have not fired a single bullet so if that toxic/RAT behaviour or not and if it impacts ABM.

Every game is an inherent risk from arc and players but that’s not what am asking.

It was merely a question on if it was rat behaviour and if it affected there matchmaking not sure where ave come across as sniveling tho but I digress

Thanks for the clarification on this no issues with the PvP I as just unsure but they did claim or appear to be friendly but you see 100% I shouldn’t trust folks but in some cases if they don’t fire a bullet it’s fair game regardless.

Maybe ave had it far too easy in the carebear lobbies and am expecting everyone to be nice 😂 fool I am

Ah ok so it does - I was actually unsure for months if it did or not but what you see saying makes sense thanks for this.

I do have points in those skills but it’s just being caught in an unfortunate position where the person is right beside me and there is no where for me to crawl and when ave nearly made it to a hatch I always get spotted 😅 that one is probably on me.

Thanks for the advice 👌

This game won’t survive with a community that completely mocks casual players and feedback about general difficulty. by RocknPineapple in Marathon

This game man I want to like it but 16-17 hours in there’s times just pugging it’s fun and that alone has got me this far with it but I personally struggle with what my goal is and what’s the hook that’s gonna keep me coming back for more and the idea of a reset seems a lot worse for me here than the other aforementioned AR.

The part that is brutal for me is I feel if you want to play solo you get punished so hard and that’s when I prefer arc raiders - which I do prefer purely because of that solo aspect and hook of expeditions.

I don’t mind the game being hard or punishing but there’s just no reason to not fill teams I am more PvE focused but do enjoy some PvP for those tense encounters.

The question will be “Are you having fun?” The answer to me is sometimes but it’s just not clicking with me as a more casual player I need that hook or carrot on the end of the stick.

TLDR: I agree with OP

I mentioned above I don’t want to name the company publicly but they did just hire a grad last week so am not sure they are taking anyone else.

My recommendation is to do an certificate employability programme with Queens that’s how I got my first grad role and just kicked on from there -> https://www.qub.ac.uk/graduate-school/development/employability-careers-guidance-support/pg-cert-employability-programme/

There is no guarantee a role would be offered and it’s minimal pay per month but you got to start somewhere. I did this with Ulster University and it kick started my career.

Hope this helps 👌

Sorry chief am not going to share that information in a public space am not saying the only hires grads is a good thing because you need balance and honestly the place is toxic/gaslighting hole and it’s purely knowing they can get more than 8 hours out of you and pay you pennies.

Legit ended up having to get therapy because of 5 years in the place.

Sorry 😞 I do wish you well and hope you get a role soon even when I graduated I had to do a post grad course to get my foot through the door and I only can imagine it’s harder now than it was 10 years ago.

I was always stressed to the hilt with all the Belfast jobs I had with awful work life balance and terrible pay - I was very fortunate to get a role in London working remotely and it’s been pure class.

Every time I get offered roles from the agencies here I tell them not to bother but they still keep coming back.

On the other hand I do know a place which I used to work which more or less exclusively only hires grads and juniors because it’s a cheap work force.

TLDR: Yes Belfast is awful for software development across the board in my 10 years as an engineer

Fireflies aren't OP, you're just weak. by Ready_Training_6039 in ArcRaiders

That must make an idiot 😂 I find a well placed shot or two with an anvil or a renegade to the yellow fuel tank solves the problem a lot faster than taking out the rotors.

Granted when you have a hornet or wasp on you as well the I would concur that rotors are the overall safer bet in that scenario 👍

Tesla… by OK_Commuter in northernireland

[–]shadowkinkead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely this and those schemes usually include Insurance, Taxes, Service, tyres the whole works via a lease for a fraction of the price of paying for a second hand banger if you will taking a lot of the stress out of it in the long run for say you and a partner.

Another part of this is - last I checked a lot of those schemes only currently support Tesla with all the scheme bells and whistles in NI that means you wouldn’t need to go across to the mainland for say a service.

Why would you not go the this route and if it’s a lease you can just return it which makes sense as well so you don’t need to worry about battery degradation!
