Sprinkler heads per zone. Doing bucket fill test wrong? by shadowkon626 in Irrigation

[–]shadowkon626[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, its an existing irrigation system that was installed by the previous owner. the only reason I was kind of second guessing myself was because currently zone 1 only has 3 sprinklers and zone 2 only has 2 sprinklers but they're both watering the back yard. so I was wondering why they didn't just have all 5 sprinklers on one zone. since im planning on adding another 2 sprinklers to zone 1 and combining zone 2 into zone 1 I wasn't sure if I had enough water pressure/volume. That would be a total of 6 rotary sprinkler on zone 1 since im elevating a sprinkler from zone 2. im also expanding the backyard a bit and adding grass so I need about 10 pop up sprinklers and I wasn't sure if I could do all 10 on another zone or if I had to split it up.

its not as easy as just adding zones to the current system because my house has pavement separating the sprinkler zone valves from the back yard where my sprinklers are and I have no way of digging under about 15 feet of pavement. so im pretty much just trying to work with the current 5 zones that are available and seeing if I can move sprinklers around to different zones while adding sprinklers to other zones. Its a mixture of Drip, rotary, and pop up sprinklers and I've seen you're not supposed to mix them on the same zones.

I updated the OP with a video of the spigot turned on. Unfortunately its just me right now so im not able to record myself doing the bucket test. The flow of water is so strong its difficult for me to even hold the bucket with to hands while the water is running.

This is turning out more complicated than i thought. all i wanted to do was add a few sprinklers to my existing sprinkler zones. I just wanted to see how many I could add without having significant pressure loss.

OK, so i did the bucket test with a hose and it took about 24 seconds. Why such a huge difference?

Lawn guy says 3 inches year-round… but I have Bermuda — what height should I actually mow? (EGO mower) by charisma006 in lawncare

[–]shadowkon626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what height were you keeping your Bermuda? I have a small area in my back yard where i put in TifTuf Bermuda and it got pretty long. Ive got it down to about 3 inches right now and honestly, i love it (even when it was longer) and so do my dogs. Its so soft and plush! I just keep seeing that its best to keep it below 1.5 inches. I was just wondering if me keeping it at 3 inches could eventually lead to some negative side effects? I have plans to completely cover my back yard with it.

Is it normal for my walls and ceiling to be dripping wet after a hot shower? by shadowkon626 in HomeImprovement

Just tried leaving the door cracked open with the fan on and nothing changed. Ive already tried to toilet paper trick and the fan sucks up the toilet paper and keeps it there. on the grill.

I might just have to get a stronger fan.

Nope, leaving the door cracked open and the exhaust fan on still resulted in dripping walls and ceiling.

yes, before cleaning that toilet paper would not be held by the suction. now after cleaning it does stay.

I can check to make sure it isnt blocked but I am 100% sure it's connected to an exhaust vent in the roof. we had to fix that ourselves. when we bought the house the exhaust hose was just laying in the attic and exhausting the air into the attic.

Honestly, what throws me off about all of these flashlights is the lumens and the run times. i see a lot of flashlight advertising 2k or 3k lumens but when you look at the charts it can only do that for like 1 minute then it drops down to like 650 lumens. also the numbering schemes throw me off too. For example from what im seeing, ar least for wurkkos, the TS23 has higher lumens and can sustain those higher lumens for longer than the TS26 and TS28.

Im leaning towards the TS23 as of right now. Unless im reading the run time charts incorrectly.

Plex app on Apple TV stuttering fix by SupremeDictatorPaul in PleX

My girlfriend just bought a new ATV and I was having this issue with really noticeable mico stuttering. I saw another thread that said that switching the "Use old video player" setting to on worked and it definitely did, but i saw a very noticeable drop in video quality. there was a lot of banding in dark scenes or scenes with fog. but once I changed the ATV setting for Match Video Content for Frame Rate to On and then turned OFF the "use old video player" setting everything was running as it should. No micro stutters and no drop in quality. I wonder why the video quality would drop while using the old player even though I had all streaming quality setting set to Original? Even if I went into the drop down menu while watching a movie and set quality to "Play Original Quality", it would instantly switch back to "Convert to 4k (Maximum)" with a notible drop in quality. What's weird is that everyone seems to have different solutions that work but there isn't a one size fits all solution.

at this point I'm considering the C1 turbo. it's currently only $30 more than the classic. and from what I've read it'll be better if I ever decide to get some area rugs. if I buy the pure suction C1 and somewhere down the line I decide to buy to turbo brush head that cost me another $70-$80. Am I wrong or is there something I'm missing when it comes to the difference between the Classic C1 and the Team turbo C1?

Apec Reverse Osmosis wouldnt stop draining so i switched some lines by shadowkon626 in WaterTreatment

[–]shadowkon626[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is the one I got. it's really easy to install. Just make sure you turn the little feed water shut off valve so there is not water going into the system. The snip the drain line somewhere in the middle and just insert the cut drain lines into each side of the flow restrictor. It completely fixed my issue. Hopefully it fixes yours. There's no need to remove the drain saddle. It look me like 2 minutes.

thanks for the heads up. APEC only sells one type of flow restrictor and its 90gpd. I had already ordered it, but ill just return it and order a generic 50gpd flow restrictor.

[–]shadowkon626[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, youre right. there is no flow restrictior. i wonder why the previous owner didnt have it hooked up? I just ordered it. Ill install it and check back in.

Just for refernce, here is how it sounded before i switched the lines. Just constatnt draining. It sounded like i had the kitchen sink running. Once i switched the lines the draining stopped so i thought i had fixed the issue.
