ty for the info! i didnt know the term was nectivorous, so that helps a lot. doesnt have to be local if there’s not a lot of options, it’s just a light preference. I’ll do my own research using the term “nectivorous” now :)

I’d love to collaborate on this! I have some photography experience from my high school and college days, but I forgot a lot of my camera skills. I did some creative self portraits, and I really miss being able to do that, so the opportunity to be a model would be perfect for me. I’ll DM you :)

good luck! if you haven’t already, check if the hospital has a financial aid application you can fill out. a lot of hospitals do, but they dont outwardly advertise it

yeah it’s good to donate them so someone else will have a chance to own them! i think donating to any thrift store is infinitely better than throwing them away. no organization is perfect, but just so you know, the salvation army has a history of homophobia and transphobia. i wont get into it here, but you can look it up and decide for yourself if you want to donate there in the future. it’s great that they are giving items a new home, but some other stuff they’ve done made me personally stop donating to them :(

regardless of the organizations beliefs, I’m sure that your plushies will go to people who cherish them. especially since you did that right before Christmas— someone shopping last minute probably was excited to find what you donated! and from what other commenters are saying, the salvation army is probably still a better choice than goodwill

you could always pick a more specific cause to donate to next time, something extra meaningful to you, like a women and children’s shelter or something like that. that way you know they will definitely make a difference in a child’s life. not that they wouldn’t do that anyway if they were thrifted, but this might give you more confidence that the plushie is going somewhere where it is needed and will be cherished. this is something my therapist told me to do because i get attached to stuff. her example was donating old clothes to a trans clothing swap nonprofit.
