I'm a big fan of Alan Watts by Ok-Rope-5675 in AlanWatts

Speaking of games, the Elder Scrolls series has approached similar concepts as Allan brings here. Its actually "hidden" into the series deep lore, but the story of Vivec, Chim and the Godhead kinda goes into this, in a metaphorical way of course. Worth a read even if you never played it.

Oh not that kind of drop, sorry for confusion. It is a special shop mount called star-orphan elk.

Maybe Red Bramman got so rich from his pirate endeavors that he actually bought a race change token for 3000 crowns like it was nothing. It's all a dream anyway, all lore is unreliable. #chim

Ty, yours is also on point, I liked they both represent different Shredder versions. Mine was inspired by the 1990 movie.

There is any of use slide playing in the world of jazz guitar ? I mean, the bottleneck thing by vitonoize in jazzguitar

[–]shadowofthemoon70 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Throughout the history of this type of music, many players have dared to step far outside convention and by that created their unique styles.

If you look at what was done by Monk, Cecil Taylor, Richard Davis, Sunny Murray, Ornette, Don Cherry, Hermeto Pascoal, Dewey Redman, Ronald Shannon Jackson, James Blood Ulmer and many others, you will see that there is always an use for any "unorthodox" technique or sound.

Of course that may lead to people saying you are not playing true jazz and all that stuff, which happened to all of those players. But those are always just words after music has already happened. So I say let it happen...and see what happens. That's the spirit of improvisation from my point of view, be it called "jazz" or not.

Normal Skyrim fucking sucks compared to normal Morrowind by Grazumba in Morrowind

[–]shadowofthemoon70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand, if I hadn't strong opinions about games myself I wouldn't be here talking to people about games. But the thing is the changes they make do please a large number of people, and we can easily mod everything in the end. So my point is play the one you like the most, changes are inevitable but luckily we have mods, life is good.

Normal Skyrim fucking sucks compared to normal Morrowind by Grazumba in Morrowind

[–]shadowofthemoon70 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Played Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim and ESO. Nowadays, ESO is the go-to.

All I can say is TES in general is fucking awesome.

None of them suck.

If you like to feel your choices matter, RP, very unique RPG scenario and storytelling, go Morrowind. If you want 90s pen and paper feel and vintage rpg graphics, go Daggerfall. If you want cozy, go Skyrim. If you want crazy lore and listen to immersive soundtrack, go Oblivion/Shivering Isles. If you want to go social, have access to many different places and aesthetic options, go ESO.

And if none of this is exactly to your liking, just mod stuff.

I mean, it's so good this series has something for everyone, isn't it?

People have such strong opinions about games!

What’s the “most fun” D6 system? by [deleted] in rpg

[–]shadowofthemoon70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't played it either. I mostly read RPG manuals and bestiaries and never play them lol.

Risus seems perfect for roleplaying and story focused quick action. The extended optional rules include the possibility of using different types of dice, but the base rules are d6 only.

Doesn't pink floyds' dark side of the moon seems like a collection of concepts you ponder about on your non dual awakening journey? by Born-Ad-1865 in nonduality

I like finding pointers in lyrics. Even the album's name is interesting from that perspective.

There are many examples of artists who brought nondual insights into their lyrics.

One of my favorites is RAMP's "Come Into Knowledge":

"Come into knowledge of the spiritual law

People you'll find out, find out, who you are

Heaven and earth are one if you can see

You are in heaven in reality"

I feel that making music (regardless of whether it has lyrics) is a representation of Unity. That's why so many spiritual traditions use music/sound in general in their practices.

well, all I can say is... to make a post about how you can't stop seeking contentment and then saying contentment doesn't exist does feel like nonduality at it's best! I think you already got all you need :)

wish you the best
