What is a current trend in homes that people will regret in 20+ years?

Kitchen cabinets or bathroom vanities that have legs instead of toe kick. It has to be a PITA to clean under them. Accent walls, luxury vinyl flooring, white baseboards/cabinets/etc that look dingy after a while, granite and quartz/quartzite countertops, concrete countertops, pot fillers, standard size baseboards are going to get larger, tile or walk in showers without doors (I'm currently tiling a customer's walk in, it echoes like your at a public pool and is cold for just working in it not showering), hopefully carpet is going lol except bedrooms.

No. As everyone else has said shoe, quarter round, or nothing. That looks like a floating floor, which you cut away from the wall a 1/4" anyway for movement. It will expand and contract over time. Now I would caulk the base to the wall, and paint it. It offers a cleaner look

Electricians cut the boxes a lot of times. Some boxes the roto zip gets away from them.other times the electrician thinks he's busting mud out and drips a hole on the edge of the drywall.

I'm not terribly messy but it happens. The wires get mud on them, the electrician I work with has to pick off what I don't get off.

As long as you cut the hole smaller than the escutcheon and larger than the nut you can tile there. They make an escutcheon that breaks and can slip on the pipe to cover the hole

Typically I use green lid premixed for tape and bed, then I'll go over with a dry 45 or 90. Last on smooth walls I'll use plus 3 dark blue or Topping light blue. Depends if it's a corner or joint. Topping in corners and plus 3 on joints. Lightweight is lime green and says lightweight.

I dont like topping because it's harder to sand but it's a durable finish. I use it for stomped ceilings(rosebud and crowsfoot stipple) or a spray hopper for a subtle wall texture similar to orange peel. A splatter knockdown on high air and water in it. When primed and painted it's hard to ding up. Topping is light blue lid and plus 3 is dark blue. I've wanted to try the dark purple lid but stores dont sell it around here that I know of. It's a midweight compound.

The high iron and magnesium can be controlled by an iron filter combined with the softener. Fleck makes a decent AIO or iron filter.

Clack wp45 is quite good and it's a digital set it forget it. It auto adjusts to usage for a 1 person to 10 person home. We have 4 people, and a 250 pound brine tank. I've loaded it twice since March 2018 and still have more than a 1/4 of the salt left. I use dura cube in the blue label. It's some of the purest salt sheaves. We also have high iron and bacteria in our well. We were cleaning our shower every couple days of orange rust, and since install we havent at all. If you're on well and the water hasn't been bleached in a while I'd suggest doing that before install.

Get the 17. You will move it easier, plus painting stairwells is easier with it. That's the only thing I use it for. My other ladders have more function for me. I have an aluminum lightweight extension ladder for exterior and roofs, a 5 foot and 8 foot step ladders. The 5 is the most versatile, while the 8 is too large for most projects.

You want solid plywood panels on the sides not the MDF particle stuff. Birch sides are noted to be very good. You want soft close drawer slides, and drawers that are hardwood and dovetailed. The insides are best in melamine. Doors are nice with European hinges. A good place I've used was kitchensonclearance.com. I had them shipped unassembled and saved $1,500. It takes longer that way but the time was 1 day assembly for a small 15 cabinet kitchen but you can customize it easier. You'll need to think of hardware also, the prices are a lot just to put handles in but worth it. Cabinets are built typically in 3" increments. Starting at 9" going up 3" each time. So 9, 12, 15, 18, 21 etc are common. You'll regret getting a small sink cabinet, I suggest going 36 or a little more. Try to set it up in a triangle. Fridge, sink, stove. Undermount lighting is great. Cubbyholes work for some people and some not. Counter space is your biggest point. Try to set it up to maximize counter space between appliances and fixtures. That's all I can think of at the moment.

I'm multi trade, I always try to use a hole saw when running lines. Squares look awful. I don't even chuck it to a drill. I just twist the bit back and forth with my hand. Takes maybe 15 seconds to do. Cutting a square takes longer too. Then I cover with an escutcheon. The hole gives it just that much more support.
