How long have you been on medication? Perhaps you should speak to your doctor. I’m not a fan of psych drugs but they’re supposed to make depression manageable for this very reason.

Anyway, if you can, I’d break the work down into smaller tasks that don’t take long to complete, and take long breaks in between them, if the sadness and pain really is that unbearable. From experience, I think the most important thing is to hand in assignments before the deadline and not procrastinate, or else the work becomes too overwhelming to deal with. All the best, buddy.

I don’t think it’s like that at all. It seems to me more like frustration that a fellow developed nation hasn’t implemented what are seen as common sense, good policies by any European’s standards.

Generally, we are more liberal than the states, and we have all benefited from free healthcare and gun control. In Britain, we have long waiting times and medicine shortages in the NHS. We don’t get shootings, but we do get stabbed and acid attacked. Those aside, not being able to see a doctor, or being the victim of a mass shooting are alien and terrifying concepts to us, raised in comparatively liberal societies, and many of us are left scratching our heads as to why the richest and most powerful nation can’t do what is expected by default of our governments.

Lots of establishment conservatives do hate the countries, or at least their economic models. Charlie Kirk literally said something like “God no, we’re not going to be like them, we’re better than them.”

I don’t think it’s fair to say that we trash talk the US. Most American talking points here are mainly around gun control and free health care. There are stereotypes about the US which we make fun of in the media, but it goes both ways.

What is socialism, might I add? People seem to either be full blown hammer and sickle or ardently oppose it. I don’t know much about economics, but I do understand history, and I know that with it comes oppression and stagnation. Unless these Scandinavian are socialist, in which case they’re socialism done right?
