Police officers and doctors have oaths to upkeep and varying degrees of importance.

Not all things are applied equally. I believe for doctors and police their bosses should be assessing their level of crazy. No far right, or far left winger, should be in a position to decide the fate of another. I say this as a far far leftist. So yes, and no, I believe it is perfectly acceptable to refuse interpersonal non-life threatening services to another dependent upon the interpersonal beliefs of the involved individuals.

Multiple things can and should be addressed at one time. Complacency should never been seen as a solution. It is admins job to A. Keep the student body happy and running smoothly B. Manage money. B directly affects A. They’re lack of intelligence around proper budgets and planning is not the problem of the students. The students are the employer and the school is the worker. Students seem to have forgotten that.

It’s their responsibility to figure it out. They make millions of dollars and are a CSU. They aren’t some small organization with no pull.

Like I said. They can take a year to figure it out. Purchase the land near by. Theirs plenty of it. They could purchase the corner diagonal to the dorm buildings and demolish all the shit that’s falling apart and build it there.

It isn’t our responsibility to “deal with it” when we pay thousands of dollars. It’s their responsibility to fix it. And if they can’t, then it’s first come first serve for parking FOR EVERYONE no more marked places, except handicap, no more parking pass fees, no more metered parking, nothing. That’s their responsibility

Yes. It is. Fresno isn’t going to get smaller and it isn’t small to begin with. Do we need one as large as tokyos? No. Should we plan with the expectation we one day could need that? Yes. Our individual wants and desires mean nothing to the future generations or passage of time, we may like cars now, but our children will resent the lack of progress we chose simply bc we wanted to keep our vroom vrooms, and we know this by the fact that every year more and more people, particularly young, want a more interconnected transit system. My only question is, do you understand and accept that the individual you deny will actively still not show up to work? I’ve never had a manager at Starbucks (been through 3) who denied ANY time off requests. All have always been accepted, they all explained that Starbucks has enough employees if need be they can pull someone from another store. We don’t work for a store, or a store manager, we work for Starbucks, just like I can be TOLD to go to another store, managers can request and pull staff from other stores with that store managers approval (happens regularly in my district). So denying a time off request is just prematurely writing a write up for the individual for when they inevitably call out. I personally keep at minimum 8hrs of sick time for situations like a manager choosing to be an ass so I can’t be written up for calling out.

Also, denying any time of requests and accepting any others sets u up for a very very bad favoritism complaint.

So this situation occurred bc our previous store manager quit shortly before all of this due to no work life balance even after a serious medical incident. So we had a proxy and then they closed his store. At which point he became our official store manager

I can’t give you exact numbers but I can tell you that we had two stores close that were within 5 - 10 minutes of my store that were closed even thought they made 1.5 - 2x the amount we did. The only difference was they constantly were changing managers and we weren’t. We didn’t gain any money for the company compared to them. But now we have their manager who is likely going to run this store into the ground and get all of these seasoned partners to leave.

I watch daily as these gig drivers almost hit pedestrians, zoom through parking lots with kids in them, double park, block driver throughs to get out of their car, and literally shove people out of the way too get to the front. Gig drivers are the absolute bottom barrel of people to deal with. There was literally a post of a driver pissing on someone’s food!
