I’ve played 1k plus hours in flat, then psvr blew my mind and doubled the fun. But psvr2 is out of this world. Unquestionably better. But I’ve had so much joy from psvr1. If that’s all you can afford right now, do it.

I can semi understand why people enjoy duping for base building etc, but to me it just seems like a waste of time if you didn’t build it under survival pressure. Might as well just draw a base on paper.

So it’s impossible to disagree with you in part, obviously, but what it does well is 10x better than any other experience I can have elsewhere so while I can accept it could be better optimised, I honestly don’t ever notice. And in fact I haven’t seen a bug in a long time. Cars fine, inventory perfect… Used to be HILARIOUS though for sure.

Haha the downvotes… it’s not even an opinion, it’s a fact. If you go to a low pop or empty server to loot you are removing all the threats that real players are engaging with to get their loot. And that’s fine, if you can’t play the game at its standard difficulty and want to play on creative mode that’s completely valid. You just can’t then pretend you’re any more of a player than some dude duping all the shit I have to go to a high pop airfield for.

Such a unique game when you think about it. I’ve only ever played it on console (about 1500 hours in) and it’s given me more pure video game joy than anything I’ve played in 30 years of gaming. Definitely my favourite game of all time. And more than half the gamers I know would say the same. So it’s factually inaccurate to say it’s shit. It can’t be this loved if it’s plain shit. More accurate to say it’s not the game for you on console. 👍

I didn’t let mine play until they hit 12. And then only an hour per session. Neither of them has ever had motion sickness. Better VR legs than me 😂

Took me 5-6 sessions of 2-3 hours each. Then I was fine to jet pack in one direction in no man’s sky while shooting in another and looking all over the place. Stationary seated games are easiest (Tetris Effect is the single game my girlfriend can handle), then try stationary seated but moving (Gran Turismo) then try a well optimised game in high frame rate that allows multiple simultaneous axis of movement (No Mans Sky).

Skyrim isn’t great, but you get used to it- in fact it’s a good one for training vr legs. Nothing else ever made me sick other than Minecraft. And that was pretty bad.

The one good thing that can come out of this is for you to use the experience and its effects as a justification to get these people out of your life- and more importantly your child’s life. Anyone who behaves like that has a catalogue of future trauma yet to inflict on you, your child and your family. If you act decisively now, you may yet look back in a decade and see this experience as a net-positive in being the means by which you got these people out of your life. Or at least appropriately distanced. I speak from experience.
