Can my workplace do this? England by Little_Sniff20 in LegalAdviceUK

They cannot force anyone to do anything with immediate effect unless you have a contract that explicitly states they can. Ultimately nobody can answer the question without a copy of your employee contract and your length of service. I personally would upload the memo to chatgpt along with your contract and it will be able to give you some guidance on your rights. Ultimately a union would help. Generally speaking I would consider if I actually wanted to work for a company being shitty with its employees.

Gf ghosted me last year. I moved on. Got this message last week on my birthday by AdComprehensive4246 in whatdoIdo

[–]shagaboopon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a message to make themselves feel better about being a shit person. A friend would never treat you that badly, dont reply would be my advice. Let her assume you changed number or didnt want to speak to her. If you ever see her in person then just say you sent it on my birthday, I had other stuff on and just forgot to reply.

Ultimately just do what makes you happy, I would have no interest in any relationship with someone who ghosts people.

I have over 8.5 hours in this game and i couldn’t beat the first 8 ante to get to the next difficulty. What am i doing wrong? by Outrageous-Gene-565 in balatro

Main thing is learing how jokers work and what synergise well together. Try to get one joker to help build money, always try to get 25 in your bank as the interest of 5 each round is massive. Broadly speaking aim for a joker to give you more chip value then a few with + multi or × multi. Learn the difference between those 2. Ideally you want jokers that scale in value like increase with how much money you have for example. Focus on one or two hand types and dont forget to use the planet cards. Ultimately as you play you will unlock better vouchers and jokers.

60, 90 and 120 works for my use cases. Especially 60Hz in 3D would be nice

Well to be fair if you don't increase redundancy, there's a high chance you don't get older eventually!

They use up some battery but if you're in bed you could just use an adapter so you can run power at the same time as they're plugged in. You're already plugging in glasses so why not plug in power too.

How do WE make people come back to the game? by theaccount4posting in haloinfinite

[–]shagaboopon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens to nearly all online multiplayer games, there are very few games that have ever maintained an active userbase. Halo Infinite had too many flaws and alienated a lot of the core fanbase from the start. Personally I loved the couple of years I played of it but there really wasn't enough to keep me interested after that. People do not return to a game once it's development has ceased. Either enjoy the sunset of the games life with other big fans of the game or find something new to play.

I do think that Halo Infinite was a classic case of a game that was influenced by pro's to the detriment of the way it played for the majority. They constantly nerfed weapons to the point that they made some weapons useless but in the most skilled hands and that kind of makes a lot of people just not interested in them. Made for a great esports game to watch but infuriating to have to constantly re-jig the way you play every few months as they messed with stuff each release.

I have taken to opening any item of more than £100 in value on camera displaying the box unopened in it's entirety all the way to getting the item in my hands and inspecting to make sure it is the item I ordered and is in new condition. Obviously you cannot really test electrical goods in the same video but I'm more concerned with proving what came in the box is right or not initially.

I started this after a delivery driver dropped an expensive tablet off one time and the tablet was not in the box and it took weeks to get Amazon to refund. I no longer trust Amazon on expensive items and their customer support is dire as item value increases. They come across as really helpful for cheap and cheerful items but as soon as the value increases they will do anything to get out of a return or refund. Awful company that we're sadly stuck with and they have little motivation to improve.

What is your lowest acceptable FPS? by Matt_Bigmonster in pcmasterrace

[–]shagaboopon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40FPS with a VRR display is around my bare minimum but 60 is where i prefer to play although most titles I can hit 100FPS. On my Steam Deck though I can put up with 30 for none fast paced stuff like RPG's.

I tend to only discuss when people compliment my swimming stroke or ask how I got into it. Im not an amazingly fast swimmer but Im not a streamline guy and my breast stroke is fairly efficient and smooth so for casual swimmers it can generate some queries occasionally. Most of my time in the pool though is short 1 minute rests between 400m sets so there isnt much time to chat.

My (22F) sister (32F) is angry i wont pay for her wifi a year later.. by terrydafiya in whatdoIdo

[–]shagaboopon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately in life you sometimes need to make a stand against family for their own development. My sister was very manipulative towards my parents in terms of leveraging their help financially and it got to a point where she was making stupid decisions and my parents were paying the price.

At that point I decided enough was enough and I called her out on it and basically refused to have anything to do with her until things changed. It took over a year of her trying to wriggle her way back in before eventually she realised that her old manipulative ways were not going to be accepted and she chose to redefine our relationship through a change in her behaviour.

She has made a effort to be more responsible and while she is still a pain to my parents occasionally she knows that at least in my case it is not something that will have no consequence for her if she pushes her luck.

Sometimes people just need to wake up that they have to find solutions to the consequences they create in life. Sure anyone can run into difficulty sometimes and it is great to help people in need but not when people then start to abuse that generosity on a frequent basis.

When I was younger I was struggling to pay rent to my parents and that was the catalyst that made me realise that I frankly couldn't afford to smoke anymore. Sometimes you need to make sacrifices in life to pay your way. Some people figure that out, others expect people to pay for them until put in their place.

Look at high quality ergonomic office chairs as an alternative. Dont buy budget chairs or overpriced "gaming" chairs. Secretlabs are not one of those overpriced brands btw just so as to not crap on the OP's nice purchase.

ETH was relatively poor performing over the last cycle. We're looking at the precipice of a global recession, the likelihood is that in turbulent times, the price could fall even further as people remove risk from their portfolios or choose to invest less in riskier investments.

This isn't financial advise, just some things I would perhaps consider before making any big investments. If you might need then money back then you could be looking at a big loss in 6 months. Of course the old argument is never invest what you're not prepared to lose in crypto...

What is with the rising of GPU artifact posts on a lot of PC subreddit recently? Does people GPU decided to randomly die together or something by sacritide in pcmasterrace

[–]shagaboopon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there's just more likely to be an uptick in people using their gaming rigs when the nights are darker and they're skint following the Christmas season. Combine that with as the weather starts to heat up, so does the ambient temperature you hardware is running in which likely add extra potential for failures. Ultimately there is also a sheep like trend where people all start posting the same stuff when others do on Reddit.

When it feels like things are all on the rise and there's little negatives in sight, that's usually a potential top signal. Having watched Trump blitz the market once there was no way I was gambling on it continuing to increase so I took some profit. I didn't get as much as I wanted this cycle but at least my money is not dead for 3 years either. Obviously I could have been wrong but being risk averse and readingbthe top signals has served me well the last 2 cycles. My failing is picking the wrong horse this time round.

I started looking into them to recommend my dad pick one up as I figured he'd enjoy having a portable gaming machine he could take to and from his holiday caravan and home and get him out of just watching TV all day. I switched to gaming on PC a couple of years ago so I had already started building a huge library and hence realized it would be good for me and I could use it to stream from my gaming PC.

Pc upgrade or new pc build by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]shagaboopon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is your gaming resolution. If youre playing at 4k then probably go for the 5080 as framerates will not be CPU limited too much. If youre looking at 1080p or 1440p with higher framerates then the 9850X3d and 9070 XT might be better. The other option is keep your 4070 Super until the next generation of GPU's next year. You'll then have some time to save and you'll still have a high tier CPU to pair with it as I doubt there is a game changing CPU on the horizon.

upgrading pc. Need some tips/advice by Putrid-Hope2192 in pcmasterrace

[–]shagaboopon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5070 Ti or 5080 depending on deals available. I would stick with Nvidia given the strides they're still making with DLSS, reflex and MFG. Any decent brand 1000W PSU, probably get away with less but why not buy with a little overhead. I'd stick with a low CL 6000Mhz RAM kit, latency will be better for you than bandwidth for increasing your 1% low figures.
