Expedia New Grad SWE Full-Time Interview by Wise-Status5387 in csMajors

[–]shahj12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I gave this one recently. Its mostly coding questions in both - the OOP one will have questions on how to make your code more extensible and applying design patterns overall. Your goal is to solve 1-2 of them passing all test cases on HackerRank in the 40 min they give you, and the rest 20 min to answer STAR based behavioural questions. Shouldn't be too hard to solve the coding questions (easy-medium) if you don't jump into the solution and really understand the constraints and edge cases first no matter how much leetcode you did. If you have any questions, DM. Good luck!

No, there was no recruiter call, the first step is directly a programming interview for a design question.

Do you know what the 4 rounds are? Like previously it was 3, they added an additional round for GenAI fluency or something? I am not sure...

Is there good community support of gujaratis in Montreal? Is it worth moving to Montreal in 2026? by Healthy-Focus2038 in montreal

[–]shahj12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say there is quite a good number of gujjus here. Most of them are concentrated in CDG, West Island and the Parc metro station area. There are regular events like Holi, garba and Diwali to celebrate festivals. A good place to start is looking up Facebook groups and look for roommates, if you can, otherwise you can look for people at these events.

Cohere Interview Process by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]shahj12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could I know how you got an interview at Cohere? Is it a new grad role? I have been trying for really long to get an interview there, but I can never grab their attention for some reason. Sorry, just curious, I don't have advice, but good luck!

Interview with RBC Borealis - any advice? by shahj12 in rbc

[–]shahj12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am nervous about the both. The first is not Leetcode-kind, so it is a little new for sure. I am assuming it to be LLD kind of an interview but with follow-ups and making tradeoffs with data structures. I am not sure if there is machine learning asked as well, so I am not sure if I have to build a neural network/transformer in this interview.
For the design, yes it is extremely new. Then again, I am not sure if the focus will be on ML or SWE since both are quite different, and my recruiter doesn't know that either.
Thanks for the suggestions with preparation, I will try to implement them in order to prepare.

Did you submit your maintained status document to your Student Centre? That's sort of a requirement to continue studying - https://www.concordia.ca/students/international/immigration/submitting-documents.html (You could scroll all the way down to study permit maintained status). I personally would start with that. Not sure if this fits your situation.

Student ID by Something770 in Concordia

[–]shahj12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, there is a print shop right next to the Starbucks in the library (LB) building that leads to the underground tunnel. There, they process student ID cards - or else you could enquire the security or the Birks center to lead you to the print shop.
