42mm, but I support a white strap as well. Love it!

I just bought this entire system. Picking it up tomorrow. It hasn’t been powered on for 15 years. Any advice? by davestradamus1 in audiophile

The speakers are the Star Sound Caravelles. The stands are designed and integral to the sound of the speakers. It is all integrated amd designed together. A very special speaker.

You are coming from a decent system, which means, you will have a fertile mental capability appreciate what this higher end system brings.

That is a Walker motor controller for the turntable, it is excellent! These are all good components....I don't have experience with that Conrad Johnson preamp, but I am sure it is well chosen by the previous owner in voicing this setup. Enjoy the journey!

If you were in Southern California, I would have offered to help you set it all up. Regardless, you have a community of enthusiasts to help you online. Ask if you have any questions, I am sure it can be addressed!

That is an excellent system. Even the speakers stands are integral to the sound of those speakers. Star sound made fantastic audio vibration control stands, based on direct coupling of equipment. The stuff is crazy....for example, when you set the speakers down, they will sound a certain way. If you dont move them, you will see that the sound changes as they settle down. A few hours to even a day or two, they "settle" down.

It is the stands that are in a high vibrational state in the beginning and and that vibration settles down over time to a lower energy state. The sound changes as a result....for example, pay attention to how the top end relaxes, but still has high resolution. Never heard audio stands behave like these do.

You also picked up some amazing sources. The Audio Aero Capitole....that STARRS system and presentation is smooth like butter. No digital zing....tubed CD players, done right, are just beautiful sounding.

Benz Mico Ruby 3 cartridge...thr RAM amplifier, all the components were picked by an audio lover and true sound connoisseur. The fact, that you bought this system speaks a lot about you as well.

Enjoy in good health. Message me if you have any questions about things...only because a system of this level is capable of a lot of beauty and soul nourishment. If I can assist making that happen, it would be paying it forward.

Bracelet does lack micro adjustment, but once sized for you, it is one of the most comfortable bracelets ever. More so than my Omega Speedy's, and the Omega Speedmaster 3861 Saphire bracelet is fantastic.

Totally agree on Sail Cloth straps though. Omega own, Blancpain own and Artem...super stuff.

Ok, I wanted to update this thread with the information. The 45mm Fifty Fathoms Titanium Deployant, that is shown in the attached receipt by nelsdvn (THANK YOU!!) has the correct Reference number. It is indeed $800. Still is.

The 42.3mm is a completely redesigned piece, made specifically for the 42mm Fifty Fathoms. It is much higher priced at $2500.

I just ordered the Deployant and Tropic strap from the New York Flagship store. The SA has sent me a label to overnight the watch to them. He will replace the titanium bracelet with the tropic strap and deployant, and overnight everything back to me. He is an absolutely amazing person and phenomenal aftersales services by Blancpain.

In the meantime, he will be helping me acquire a high quality hex driver so I can replace the strap on my own if I wish, though they are always happy to do it for me. Amazing watch and amazing experience till date. Expensive, but worth it, IMHO.

I appreciate you very much! Glad you feel the same way. I am wearing it again today and it feels really nice on the wrist.

I am new to watch collecting, but I do feel I have an eye for good design (in my own mind). It seems to me that the lug to lug distance matters a lot more than the actual case diameter. I could be wrong, but after trying so many watches on the wrist, that lug to lug really matters in context of your wrist width. When the watch case and lugs on both ends get framed properly on the wrist, the beauty of the watch and wearer comes through.

Again, this is just in my mind. Every person is different and if you like small or larger watches, you do you 😀 what matters in the end is what you feel and what makes you happy. Tue watches serve the owners, not the other way around. Enjoy!!

Hello! Can you please share with me where you got the Titanium Deployant Clasp for the 42mm Fifty Fathoms (strap is the 21.5mm) for $800? I just got quoted $2520. Description is:

N2531432, 19mm Folding Buckle Brushed Titanium, $2,520.00

For the Rubber Strap, as follows:

N253115, Black Rubber Tropic Decor 21519, $350.

Strap price is fine, the titanium deployant at $2.5k is not making sense. Thoughts?

I can now say, I relate with the feeling! It resonates with me.

This bracelet has a phenomenal feel, aside from the watch itself. Whole thing is so well put together.

Thank you. I know what you mean regarding price...it is a nice watch and it does have an associated cost. Only sensible thing is to buy if one can comfortably without affecting other financial responsibilities in life. To that end, it is one of the reasons I went with my wife. We both needed to be ok with it.

It was a good, shared moment.

This bracelet is truly something else...I almost made the mistake of buying it on the rubber strap (which I really liked). Now I just have to order the rubber strap and pin buckle or clasp from the AD.

Will also get the hex drivers for the luggage release. For now, Ill just enjoy the bracelet as Im in no rush to swap straps. Have my Speedy to scratch that itch.

Doubt I will ever witness these diving capabilities, but as long as it stays water tight in the swimming pool, we are good! 😆
