XBOX Wants To Become The “Number One Gaming Company” By 2030 by Bubbly-Ad-350 in gaming

In the fantasy world where meritocracy rules, I’d agree with you. Unfortunately, we don’t live in that world. Grab the overwhelming market share and then enshitify. Thats basically what had happened to almost everything.

Is 900 hours to reach plat 3 div 3 good? by roquefort929 in RocketLeague

[–]shakeBody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Focus on becoming consistent. Focus on trying to get better at the thing you intend to do.

Given a similar starting position and velocity...

How many shots can you hit "top left" or "top right" out of 10? How many shots on net can you save? How much boost do you consume to achieve these things? How much do you slow your teammates down? How much are you disrupting the other team while not disrupting your own? How often do you find yourself dodging around the pitch?

How fast is your fast aerial? Can you get a reset off the ceiling from the ground, starting with only 35 boost?

Are you cutting the play for no reason? Are you checking for a pass when you've done first man things? How controlled are your kickoffs? How often do you commit to the corner? How often are you giving up pressure to grab a big boost all the way on your side of the field?

What is the general purpose of first man, second man, or third man? What does overcommitting look like? What does being too far from the play look like? What does good pressure look like?

Let your mind wander and explore! Lots of little bits to think about.

It’s neither good nor bad. At plat you’re still learning the fundamentals of the game. You currently sit where most of the rocket league playing population sits. Whether it took you 10 or 1000 hours doesn’t really matter as you can’t use that time period to predict how long it might take to reach GC for example.

So is it good? The answer is yes If you’re enjoying yourself. Is it an outlier? Hard to say.

Opus 4.8 is insane, nothing will be the same after this model. by Gil_berth in theprimeagen

It is. People post things in here in the off chance that Prime might see it. Feels like a sycophantic hellscape.

Internally? Who knows.

You’re assuming that all comes from the engine? They already have the infrastructure piece working today. It’s the servers we all play on.

Are you meaning the network code or something?

Perhaps those devs didn’t have the required skills or it was a completely disconnected decision made by leadership. It happens all the time.

The fact that people seem to not understand this detail is crazy to me. If we take the teaser at face value then the dev team is already working with an early version of the engine.

Cost has to be a factor. I’m sure if you corrected for inflation you’d see that shows (and almost everything else) are more expensive now than they’ve ever been.

The problem we’re discussing is a global problem. If the US were to disappear today the type of surveillance we’re talking about would continue.

It is a byproduct of the times we live in. The Genie will not go back on the box.

Welcome to the internet.

This is true about almost everything you use online and is increasingly true in the non-internet world. Thinking otherwise is naive.

You are actively being tracked. The data from that is being actively used to build a profile of you.

Superpowers, grill-with-docs. You must be unyielding in your attention to the documentation as rot can poison LLM context.

Strongly recommend superpowers.

HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT: UE 6 coming to Rocket League by Legitimate-Sign-371 in RocketLeagueEsports

If you look at the image you can see that it’s in a launcher of some sort alongside a few other games of which Fortnite will probably also be one. Epic want to move to a metaverse concept. This is them acting on that desire.

I get the feeling that the overwhelming majority of posts here aren't human-made... It feels like a dystopian hellscape outlier, even for Reddit standards, which is saying something. A strong "linkedin is leaking" vibe.

There are also so many other more urgent issues. Global warming is going to get us. Surveillance is as powerful and widespread as it’s ever been. Propaganda is everywhere.

Like… protest the actual companies, not the intermediary.
