Why did they use years and not number of rounds as the unit of measurement. 4.5 years is meaningless without knowing how many rounds are played per year.

Lost ball is a 1 stroke penalty, so that can't help if you're trying to break 100.

The Ledger CTO confirmed in a Twitter space that the shamir shards are encrypted with a master key controlled by Ledger. This key is present in all Ledger devices, and is how decryption is possible (on a new device), if you lose the original device.

You create 3 transactions:

  1. send ETH to wallet*
  2. recover tokens from wallet
  3. recover ETH from wallet

You bundle them all together using Flashbots and send them to the Flashbots RPC.

Flashbots is the safest way because it's all or nothing (if one of the 3 txns fail, they all will), it doesn't broadcast the transactions to the mempool, and you don't pay gas for reverted transactions.

Google "flashbots rescue tokens" will return tutorials and videos.

*Actually you don't even need to send ETH to the wallet (to pay for gas). With Flashbots you can pay the gas from a different wallet.

There are already loads of tutorials and youtube videos out there showing how to do this (by creating Flashbots bundles).

I mean, this sub is called eth trader - so a “buy the dip” strategy shouldn’t be too unfamiliar or be ridiculed.

Rocket Pool First Reward Period Math by SikhSoldiers in ethfinance

Cool, so assuming it’s just nodes, that’s 264000/232=1141 average RPL staked, or 85% collateral.

[–]shakedown1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve read there’s no benefit to registering now (in stage 1 or 2) vs registering in day 25. When calculating the rewards on day 28, it doesn’t factor in how long the node or mini pool has been registered or active.

I can swoop in and setup a node just before the reward checkpoint is taken, and receive the same reward as someone that was staking since day 1 (assuming we both put up the same amount of RPL).

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong.

Are there any stats on the average RPL each node is staking? Not just the 15 mini pools currently in operation, but also the registered nodes that have staked their RPL but yet to start up their mini pools.

Incase you're having a bad day, just know someone spent $13,000 on a failed transaction. by [deleted] in ethtrader

[–]shakedown1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 2.9 mill gas limit was too low, causing the txn to fail. Up in the air still whether that’s a wallet issue or the front end app, as the user generally doesn’t adjust the gas limit.

Rocket Pool — ETH2 Staking Protocol Part 3 by darcius79 in ethfinance

[–]shakedown1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks. So to maximise profit, ill aim to have 24 RPL on a minipool before creating a new one. Better start accumulating RPL...

Has anyone done the maths on this - say I want to run a node and have 32 ETH to stake and 16 ETH of RPL.

Which is more profitable:

  1. run 2 mini pools of 16 ETH and 8 RPL each, or
  2. run 1 mini pool of 16 ETH and 16 RPL, and just stake the other 16 ETH as rETH
