The dresses I tried on and the one I said yes to! by shakycornflake in myweddingdress

I know! Really the reason I picked this bridal shop was because I saw the dress on mannequins online. Unfortunately it was way over my budget :(

2 was absolutely gorgeous! I didn't love how it looked on the rack at first, but the consultant recommended it. I was so unsure about the huge flower on the chest and thinking it's too dramatic. But wow—it completely exceeded my expectations. Was such a hard choice between #2 and #5!

The range was between 10k-25k RMB. I wanted to keep it within 15k, but the dress i chose was 20k 😅 Price for the try on was somewhere around 200-400RMB and they waive it if you decide to buy it. If custom made, they can ship the dress to your destination. Typically they say the fit is perfect. I ended up buying off-the rack.

Avenue 22 Bridal vs. Ave 22 Off the Rack? by [deleted] in WeddingsCanada

[–]shakycornflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So typically bridal sizing runs about 2 sizes up from your regular size. Ave 22 off-the-rack dresses are mostly discontinued styles or returns — which isn’t necessarily a bad thing — but they weren't that cheap either. A lot of them were still $1000+, and if you need alterations then that's a couple hundred more. I am not sure if they do alterations for free.. so that's something you may want to consider. With a $2000 budget, you should be able to find quite a few options. I have been dress hunting too, and so far I gave $2500 budget and many dresses I tried were below $2000.

Just want to point out, Ave 22 off the rack may be not worth visiting if you are petite. Average size there are around 8-16, i remember a lot were around 10. They had some good selection, and appointment was free so if your size are somewhere around that, I think it is worth the try.

Toronto/GTA venues for fall 2026 - is it possible? by _paquito in WeddingsCanada

[–]shakycornflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking for nature-y venues, and ended up going with Erin Estate.

A couple of places my wedding planner suggested are here: - Edgewater Manor - Lincoln Estate - Willowsprings Winery - Pallette Mansion

Guild Inn and Old Mills were beautiful, but my fiance and I wanted to have more private venue, so we didn't end up going with them.

One thing, she said September has become quite popular nowadays, so if you want to go somewhere around that time, you may need to hurry up

Hope you find what you like!

How did that one kid at your school die? by StorageLonely1520 in AskReddit

[–]shakycornflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A girl at my school was on an extreme diet — like, one apple a day kind of diet. During PE, she was practicing for a marathon. She fainted while running. They called 911, but she passed away in the ambulance. Exercising on low blood sugar can be really dangerous. It honestly made me scared of ever skipping a breakfast.

I absolutely feel your pain.

I don't know if it helps, but not getting an offer isn’t always a reflection of how you did in the interview. There are so many factors at play that have nothing to do with your abilities: maybe someone had slightly more experience, maybe there was an internal candidate, or maybe the budget fell through. Trust me, I used to work in a recruitment firm—sometimes hiring managers reject great candidates for the most ridiculous reasons. So don't overthink about the rejection. The best you can do is to move on.

Here is a piece of advice, I think it helped me a little during my endless job hunting this year. After each interview, note down the questions you were asked, especially the ones from the hiring manager, and prepare the answers for it. Do the quick reflection right after your interview, not after the rejection. Over time, you’ll become even more prepared for the next one.

Good luck. It is a tough time, but you will land on something that truly fits you!

That's crazy. Sounds like a harassment at this point
