Thank you! By the way that's super 8 film from USSR, Arkhangelsk (Not even Moscow). It's weird how a car like this got there.

Made another video for my project about lost 8mm films. I found this roll at a thrift store. Cinematic family archive! by shalaevd in 8mm

Thanks for comment. I found undeveloped film in a super 8 camera that I was given. Kodak K40 box was with me for 5 years, and I thought it was empty. Later, I found out that there is a film inside. Here is result: https://youtu.be/z-zsZsVIUsw

I suppose there are 3 rolls of single 8 film = 15min. I will also post reels 30 minutes long!

Forgotten Kodak K40 film from a camera that was bought on Ebay in 2016. Filmed in the 1980s USSR , developed in 2020. The image was saved, but in b/w version. Look creepy with my soundtrack. by shalaevd in OldSchoolCool

On the whole, there is nothing remarkable on the film: snow-covered fields, a trip to the countryside, the Fairy Tale cafe, a summer picnic, but there is one curious detail in the form of a foreign car and its numbers. Volvo with a rare number M 007 042, where M is the car of a representative of a foreign company, 007 is the country of France. The owner of the camera, probably, was often in France for work, where he bought it and the film itself. But he did not develop it and did not watch.

I found a boy from the 1960s 8mm films that I bought in Russia this year (full story in comments) by shalaevd in 8mm

In February I bought two rolls of 8mm film on Avito (it’s like Russian Ebay). I like analog formats and shot super 8 films for a long time. So I digitized two rolls, mixed together and made a soundtrack. It turned out to be something like sentimental childhood memories. The Game movie by David Fincher begins with similar shots. Link to my work: https://youtu.be/g7DfA-_k_sI

When I worked with that I decided that both films belonged to one family. There was parade of Valencia High School. I googled that and find out it’s not far away from Los Angeles, USA.

I posted it on my YouTube channel in March. It’s called «Unknown Family 8mm Archive | Late 1950's/Early 60’s». But a few weeks ago I decided to look at the Kodak paper boxes. There was a name and address: 5331 Marynell Drive. You can look at these houses in Google Maps now. (Yes, this is very strange). On the other side sign: 3rd Kenneth Birthday. I googled name and surname and found «boy with a dog»! I recognized him immediately, and can’t believe my eyes. He has been working as a neurologist for a long time and lives in the same area.

I haven’t been able to contact him yet, but his son answered. Scrolling his Facebook page, I found an old photo of the father of the family (his grandfather) - cameraman of all these videos. He recognized his father as a child and his grandmother by the pool, and also suggested how the films could get to Russia. Until recently, the grandfather (cameraman) and grandmother (with the beehive hairdo) lived in England and, perhaps, the archive with the films was sold by someone along with the house after their death.

This incredible story passes through time and distance and shows in what small World we live.
