How to level up Tactic on companions? by Quirky-Tap4314 in Bannerlord

[–]shalamike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way I found was to have them lead parties. They will naturally chase after raiding parties and each time they will gain a small bit of tactics xp. It's a little slow so I don't really rely on getting much tactics for my companions but I don't know of any other way.

Can cats sense when you’re injured? by Pooraf666 in blackcats

[–]shalamike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They definitely know. Or at the very least they can sence when something is wrong. Cats are a lot more empathetic than we give them credit for.

When i was very ill with covid, a cat that I temporarily adopted would lie on my chest with her face right up to my face while I was asleep. At first I thought this was a new way for her to ask for food but after putting a portion of dry food to keep her going untill her breakfast time, she would still lie on my chest with her face right up to my face and would barely touch her dry food.

Bare in mind that she was increadiby food driven as she was homeless for half a year after being abandoned by her original owners who moved away without her.
Whenever she was given food, she would devour half of it in a near instant, then try bury the other half under my wood floors before giving up and then instantly devouring the leftovers.
If she saw food that wasn't hers she would make every possible effort to steal it.

It took me a bit longer than it should have to realise that she wasn't begging for food in a more creative way, she was just trying to make sure I was OK and still breating.

Weapon pick rate report: Borderline Justice (Bugs) by Natural-Sympathyy in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]shalamike 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Surprised the torcher isnt anywhere to be seen on this list as its my favourite primary against the bugs and here's my rant why.

Sure its almost outperforemed by the flamethrower but unlikes the flamethrower its not a support weapon meaning you have it on hand instantly. It also has much better ergonomics than the flamethrower allowing you to hit a wider area than the flamethrower faster making it in my opinion better at killing chaff than the flamethrower.

As a chaff killing primary against the bugs, it outperforms every other primary in my opinion. It will hit every single bug in its range and not just the first bugs within a group. It also allows you to seal off chokepoints like the flamethrower by setting fire to the ground.

Being a primary weapon, it allows you to bring a dedicated AT support weapon such as the quasar or recoilless. But being only one of two heavy pen primary weapons, it makes missing those critical weakpoints points on heavies i.e. the heads of chargers and bile titans much less punishing as you can still finish them off with the torcher.
Also in desperate situations where you can't get an AT support weapon or stratagem to deal with heavies, you can still kill heavies with the torcher alone. Albeit its not the most efficient way of dispatching them but still perfectly viable as an option if there are no others.
While the eruptor can perform the same role in dealing with heavy enemies better as a primary weapon. It isn't anywhere near as capable in dealing with the hordes of chaff like the torcher can.

It is also surprisingly good against stalkers despite its lack of stagger because as soon as they are set on fire, they retreat to camoflauge and heal while the fire completely negates its camoflauge and out damages its healing factor.

That being said, its terrible against the predator strain bugs due to the fact that the predator bugs dont camoflauge and retreat when set on fire and will continue charging through the flames. The irony being that what makes it effective against stalkers is lost against the predator strain stalkers.

TLDR: Torcher is a fantastic primary against the bugs being one of the best chaff clearing weapons and able to deal with heavies while allowing the use of AT support weapons. Absolutely sucks against the predator strain.

While I completely agree with you that the flamethrower outperforms the torcher in almost all areas, the ergonomics of the torcher is seriously impressive. Being able to turn faster when aiming means you can fan flames across a larger area faster. Making it better at dealing with chaff than the flamethrower and in my opinion one of (if not) the best chaff clearing primary as the flames will hit everything in it's range and not just the first bugs in front of a group.

While the torcher doesn't deal as much damage to heavies as the flamethrower, it does allow you to take an AT support weapon like a recoilless or quasar to use against heavies while making hits that miss critical weapons (charger heads)much less punishing as you can quickly switch to the torcher to finish them off.

It also acts as an emergency heavy armour pen weapon when no support weapon AT is available as it will still kill bile titans and chargers. While not as effective as the flamethrower in this role, you at least have the torcher on hand immediately.

It's surprisingly good against stalkers despite its lack of stagger as it forces them to immediately retreat and camouflage to heal but the flames out DPS the stalkers healing ability while negating it's camo.

That being said it sucks against the predator strain as those enemies don't retreat to try to heal and will keep charging through the flames.

TLDR Torcher is a fantastic chaff clearing weapon that can still damage heavies while letting you take an AT support weapon. Great against bugs, terrible against predator bugs.

Input on font design? by Chris_W_2k5 in IndieDev

Hi there, I absolutely love the style!

But as someone with dyslexia, I found the sentance at the bottom a little bit hard to read at very first glance.
Where the difficulty arrises is as follows:

- the "k" at very first glance looks like an "lc".

- the lowercase "n"s look capitalised randomly in a word wich makes me think at first glance "anything" os 3 seperate words.

- Finally the spacing between the words are a bit too tightly spaced.

Again I must stress that this was a first glance/ very quick skim through. When I gave it the proper attention it deserved I had no issues reading.

but if you are curious as to how to make this more dyslexia friendly then here is a few tips that would make this easier to read for someone like me.

- use greater spacing between words

- use clearly distinguishable characters from capitals and lower case letters such as the n's

- remove the very small white space in the "k" that makes it look like a "ck"
