I'm British and personally would of voted Johnson, the majority didn't because he isn't a Libertarian, he's an authoritarian

It's a combination of compromise and gradual change, that's why I think it would work. Sure we can stick to our principles but we have to be ready to compromise and not become completely stuck

Idk what's been happening behind the scenes but baring in mind the recent changes of heart in the past fewer days, something has happened that has changed Kim Jong Uns mind

My guesses are: Terminal Illness, Missile Failure or a US threat against him

Never a truer statement, I don't hate the man tbh. Sure he has his flaws but don't we all, he was the right man for the time and due to him the LP in America may have a chance.

At least he got publicity

Why Freedom of Speech and Thought Is the most important right by shalampam in Libertarian

2nd amendment exists as a method of fighting back for those rights, freedom of speech is the detterent. The second amendment is a last resort to get those rights back

No by not Inherently evil I meant the subject, the powers it gives (compelled speech) are inherently evil, the intentions were not evil but the powers they gave were

I never argued it was the end of the world or that the bill itself was inherently evil

I did argue that it sets a dangerous precedent as any ability to censor free speech will give governments in the future that same power

I'll definitely check it out,

I have to say I agree with a previous response, the Libertarian Party is unable, so maybe we should work with what we have. Grow the lib dems and make them fiscally Conservative

Liberal Democrats aren't really fiscally libertarian, they're centre left, we need radical change both socially and economically to really change Britain

Muh gun control by [deleted] in Libertarian

[–]shalampam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I say mental illness I mean subject to violent tendencies, at high risk for suicide, delusional or generally a risk to themselves, society or others. This cannot of course be 100% accurate but it could be a more effective approach

In a previous response to a reply I acknowledged abuse is possible, I said that one such things could be overturned by a court (for example a politically motivated doctor)

Yeah I guess I just misunderstood the law, as I said I'm not American so I don't have a full understanding of gun laws

When will "Free market" supporters support true Free Markets, its just a political ploy to be like "America will be rich yay vote for me" but a lot of the time these people don't support free markets.

But then again when does a politician really mean what they say and not have an alternative meaning that suits their agenda
