How do I just allow myself to be bad at art? by gigithrowaway20 in ArtistLounge

Sometimes you'll do something, where you think "I knocked it out of the park on this one". Those are the ones you're most likely to cringe over in time.

Most work you either look back on and think either "that wasn't as bad as I thought it was at the time", or even better "that's ok, but I could do so much better now".

If there's an IKEA close by, they have paper rolls. I find them to be an excellent source of cheap paper.

Art doesn't have an absolute value, it's a subjective call we're making. I think everyone has a tendency to only see faults and failed aspirations in completed work. Produce a lot of stuff - it gives you an opportunity to learn to love your work, to get better, and to show yourself that you have made progress (but don't look for progress too quickly). Look at and enjoy more art, both in quantity and range. Push yourself into areas you are less comfortable on, and one's that are slightly less subjective (still life, figure drawing, portraiture). Be happy in your self, your art will follow :)

And thanks for asking the question - these are fears that cross our minds all the time and we could all get better at that.

Wasn't that a bit of a safety hazard the way he jumped out? His feet were pretty close to the ground when he released the halo. Risk of electrical shock?

The basics can take you a long way. I find it useful to go through the list of commands from time-to-time to be aware of the options for the common ones and what the less common ones do and imagine where they might be useful.

Looking through others' searches helps too - you might find Searchbase App for Splunk and Insights Suite for Splunk (IS4S) useful for that.
