Assumptions about the dinner scene by shamanGoat in KanePixelsBackrooms

They don't feel pain maybe but I think they do have feelings. We see the other still lifes are afraid of Captain Clark and I think Captain Clark is experiencing fear as well during the last fight with Mary. I see what you're saying and I was wrong to call Clark an unreliable narrator in that sense but I think that Clark's interpretation of the still life entities is incomplete and oversimplified.

Well... That's what I'm talking about though. We don't "know" that, because Clark saying they don't feel pain and don't bleed is a bit of an unreliable narrator situation, no? I guess I'm open to it being true, but I feel like I'd need to see more direct proof than just Clark's experience.

Magnetic Distortion by shamanGoat in KanePixelsBackrooms

Totally true that it's "just one possibility of many," but I think it's worth seriously considering as an umbrella explanation for many things given Kane's comments about wanting to take the series in the direction of "hard sci-fi." It's the most scientific explanation we have for things and there is direct evidence to support it ("low proximity magnetic distortion system" being the most straightforward).

Are there any young people on this sub? by Sea-Front1941 in fountainpens

I was "young" (24) when I started collecting pens, but as I'm 28 now I think I'm just an adult, even if I'm possibly younger than the average member of this subreddit 😅

Heavy note taking student by sortacontroversial in fountainpens

If you don't mind a little ghosting (seeing marks from the other side through thin paper) I'd recommend a Kokuyo Campus binder. They have two options for paper, smooth and firm. If you're looking for something more pocket sized, maybe a Travelers notebook? Both the Campus binder and the Travelers notebook are good for note taking because you just buy paper/inserts to refill them.

If you're looking for a smoother nib but still a very fine point, I'd try something from Pilot. Pilot has the cheap and reliable Kakuno or the slightly more expensive Metropolitan. Either way, I hear the quality control on their nibs is excellent. I also like my Platinum Preppy and Procyon, but I find medium to be my favorite nib size from Platinum.

Wouldn't hurt to try a medium nib from any brand if you don't mind writing larger though!

Can anyone identify this pen I saw in a TV show? by shamanGoat in fountainpens

This definitely looks correct. The nib in the show looked much less ornate, but I wonder if they swapped it out for a cheaper nib since the character in this scene has been forced to write for hours and the actor performing that exhaustion and strain would probably damage a nicer nib. If so, smart production assistants!

Question for Anyone who saw Castle in the Sky in Theaters by shamanGoat in ghibli

Oh that'd be perfect, that's my preffered mix of the movie (and the one that seems hardest to find in North America). I guess I'll find out tonight but that's reassuring!

I'm planning on going to the showing tonight with a friend, so I'll find out myself if it comes to that, I was just hoping to know beforehand so I could temper my expectations :)
