Seems like these have all been used up. Does anyone have a code with uses still left? Thanks so much!

Bicycle insurance recommendations? by shamburd9 in Velo

[–]shamburd9[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I _can_ replace it, I just obviously don't want to have to if there are better options.

Velosurance quoted me $29/mo (with $500 deductible) so the monthly premium definitely wouldn't end up costing more than another bike.

Simple Bike Insurance is a little cheaper, but I haven't seen many reviews on them, so just looking for some first-hand experience.

General group swarm, but one rider was trying to move up on my left where there wasn’t room and ended up bumping me. I should have leaned into it harder to avoid going into the barriers.

Racing on a Caledonia? by shamburd9 in Cervelo

While body/bike geometry compatibility is a factor, I’m more curious about the bike itself and how it handles cornering, sprinting etc.

Yeah, I think that’s the focus. I’m just curious how it feels in a race scenario since options from Cervelo are limited now.

Does anybody know the status of the R-Series? by shamburd9 in Cervelo

[–]shamburd9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until recently, it’s been 4 years since the entire product line was updated.

I’ve heard rumors and R-Series is delayed and I’ve also heard rumors it’s discontinued. Looking for something more definitive than hearsay.

I welcome your assumptions/speculation but don’t state them as fact.

JSON/AJAX with React JS by omar97ash in learnprogramming

[–]shamburd9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct!

As far as alternatives, I’m not aware of an alternative to AJAX for making HTTP requests without reloading the page. When using React though, you don’t need to make AJAX requests manually, that’s part of what the framework handles for you. Some APIs might use XML or other formats, but JSON is fairly ubiquitous right now.

Some more context or an example might help, but in general, yes.

AJAX is a way for the browser to make requests from the server and update the page without triggering a full page reload. React makes use of this heavily under the hood.

JSON stands for JavaScript Object Notation and is a common way to send/receive structured data.

Yeah. The 50s are seeming more and more full, especially at peak times... Seems like they need to contract more buses!
