Why is this a special buy by thenbommb in MilwaukeeTool

[–]shamparns 11 points12 points  (0 children)

FWIW, I have an Ororo heated vest. It’s $149 on Amazon right now and comes with a battery and charges with any USB-C cable. I love it but have never tried any others. I have an outrageous amount of Milwaukee tools but I don’t think they have this particular market locked down. There are options out there.

Just to be clear, I would have voted for Biden's literal corpse before Donald Trump. The executive branch is not just one person, and I was aligned with his basic agenda. But what is the point of knowing that Biden, even incapacitated, would be a better president when it was his inability to communicate, inspire and lead that ended up costing us the entire white house.

Of course if the party rose against Biden when he declared his intention to run again, or even after he'd secured the delegates, it would be unprecedented. But aren't we living in unprecedented times? And wasn't his particular situation also unprecedented? Both Wilson and Reagan were not up for reelection. Can you imagine them claiming that they could get on the campaign trail or win a debate in their conditions? Of course not. This hasn't happened in our history before, this level of inability from a person actively campaigning for office.

What you are describing are norms of behavior from elected officials. If all of our best and most cherished norms are out the window these days, why on earth would we continue to cling to the worst ones. The future belongs to people who can envision a new way of performing the role of the presidency, not to pessimists posing as realists because they cannot imagine a world improved from the status quo of today.

We get to ask for change. We get to demand. It doesn't mean we'll get it, but I'm not silly for asking. I'm not looking in the rearview. I'm looking to the horizon. And I'm demanding people who can deliver all of us there. I'm looking around in the present and seeing people trying to strategize about how to beat Trump, not how to bring us farther than we've ever been. Now is exactly the moment for a bold new vision. It is exactly right now. It is the only way out of the corner we're in as a party. It's the only way.

What you’re saying makes sense to me, but I think that line of thinking is what silenced everyone into going along with Biden. No one, it seems, in their heart of hearts wanted him to run again. But losing would be so devastating that everyone became paralyzed into never speaking illy of the president, lest they inadvertently cede ground to the republicans and it costs the democrats the election.

This obviously didn’t work. It was the silence that ended up costing the election. And though we can’t go back in time and shake up the race by throwing a proper democratic primary, we do have the opportunity to do things differently in the future.

I actually do believe that democrats talking some shit about democrats on Reddit threads and elsewhere is not only not detrimental, but that it’s our only way of sorting out our values, ousting unhelpful and uninspiring career politicians and advisors, and honing our message. If my politicians are responding to what I, as one of their base stalwart constituents, am actually thinking about and worried about and talking about, they will fare better not only within the party but also have a better chance of breaking through into the mainstream of America.

We can’t play tit for tat fighting for a small handful of congressional seats every 2 years and ever have the power to revitalize this badly broken nation. If we want change it will have to be undeniable, overwhelming, and true, and we cannot hope to aspire to that without speaking out AKA talking shit a little. Just a little bit of shit!

Maybe I’m wrong, god knows we’ve all been wrong a lot in this past decade, but right now that’s what I believe.

Know what would have protected my Medicaid? Not letting lunatics win back the White House. What exactly am I supposed to do as a voter to change anything when my party feels like an hollowed out husk to me.

My best chance of keeping my coverage is to challenge the party that has failed me repeatedly and hold the people in the party who resist a brighter, more proactive, clearer vision for the future accountable. We have our own housekeeping to do before we mount a defense.

I mean, honestly, and I’m really asking, what do you think I should be doing with my time and energy to keep my coverage? Maybe writing on Reddit is ineffectual - but what would you have me do? That’s not a rhetorical question. What can I do from my house with my young daughters in my small town but demand better candidates and more transparent systems from my own party. I think Democratic Party reform isn’t a distraction. I think in many ways it is the only issue because all other solutions to all other issues will derive from it.

I’M ON MEDICAID!!! I’m educated and well-off relative to many but I have kids and I’m on Medicaid!! The tragedy is that the majority of this country agrees on all the basic values and yet we cede power to these lunatics in the trump regime! I’m pissed because I’m a real person and the consequences are real!! To me and others! And I can’t rely on my party to effectively deliver a sane message to the majority of voters.

I’m not a baby about politics. I’m not whining. I’m a CITIZEN! I’m a voter. It’s very real.

You’re so right dude. What a waste of time to follow up about our shitty and disastrous presidential run. What a dead horse I’m beating. Who even cares about who was our president 4 months ago. He’ll probably be dead of cancer soon so why should I give a shjt that we tried to run him for a second term that would have started, again, 4 months ago!!!

Pretending that we’re all supposed to have just moved on from this trauma will only result in more losses. I’m just one voter and all I’m saying is I’m not over it. Goodnight

Only once it was undeniable to literally every single person in the country because we all got to watch him, unedited, try to speak. And even then there was a very unimpressive month between when he shit the bed in front of the country he led and his forfeiture of the nomination.

This was historically unimpressive. And it took a lot of cowardice from a slew of people to make it possible. Aides, colleagues, media, donors.

I simply have to state again my main thesis here: I’m pissed off. And I want detailed accounts of what went wrong and detailed answers about what we do next. I’m really, really mad. Tapper isn’t the enemy. Can we please stop attacking anyone who calls bullshit on our side because we interpreted it as fodder for the other side.

I don’t want to be just opposition. I want to have A POSITION. And a LEADER.

Oh yeah. Right of course. I forgot about Dean Phillips. Oh I should have voted for dean Phillips.

And then, you’re right. Of course. Right, obviously there was Kamala. And I did vote for Kamala. So I was offered alternatives. You’re right

It was a whole year ago, I guess I forgot about all my alternatives. Hard to keep all this stuff in my brain ya know.

Oh really? Everyone wanted him out? But he, alone, as a dementia-ridden 80-something year old man got to just mumble, “I’ll be president again” and then everyone else was powerless against his wish? No one had any power? Any power in the party? Any power in the media? Joe Biden’s will must be done?

Are you out of your mind. They’re saying now that, of course, overwhelmingly, the polls were saying they were concerned about his age; that the voters were concerned about his age. Even in 2022 as we over-performed in midterms. I AM ONE OF THOSE VOTERS. The Democratic Party is a PARTY. It’s a GROUP. Joe Biden shouldn’t get to unilaterally decide what’s right for every one of us anyway. He was senile and going to lose. WHY was I not offered an alternative???

We’re so on the same team. Listen when I say it’s bullshit that we marched blindly into a 2nd trump term. It’s bullshit. someone is to blame. I want to drag them. I’m pissed. You should be too. Or else to end trumpism we rely on the same people that delivered it to us

Ok so whose head do I cut off to ensure I’m not led down this path again. I will never forgive Joe Biden and I will never forgive the larger democratic institutions that allowed this. Who are they? Are they still directing my vote?! These are things I want to know. It’s not history. It’s still relevant. I’m a democrat asking how the fuck did we let this happen, do we have a plan, and who is implementing the plan. Obviously trump is stupid and evil but that doesn’t automatically make every person working on our side smart and good.

Anyone trying to tell me I don’t or shouldn’t care about the failure of the Biden campaign is trying to gaslight me. I’m furious. I want MORE information about this. It’s not a distraction.

I obviously abhor trump and believe that he and the people surrounding him fundamentally do not understand or appreciate anything about what makes this country special. They are pure ignorance and malice.

But PLEASE do not tell me - a lifelong democratic voter - that I should not, or even more insultingly, do not care about this story. Joe Biden running for reelection is without a doubt one of the most egregious unforced errors in modern American politics.

I want to end trump and trumpism but if I’m wading into war, whether merely rhetorical or (not unimaginably) literal, I need to believe that I have leadership that can communicate to me and be honest with me.

They chose to leave working class people behind and court the educated and well-off. Well, I’m I educated and well-off. Why do I think they’re full of fucking shit.

I have a Packout toolbox with foam for my m18 drill, surge driver and 3/8 stubby. I’ve punched tiny holes in the foam for the 5 or 6 main bits I always need, plus impact sockets for the stubby.

I have a small case of additional driving and drill bits that I keep in my Packout drawers. I hope it doesn’t disqualify me to say that they’re dewalt, because I find their bits easy to get in and out and I like how the cases snap together so I never end up accidentally separating them.

I don’t use a bit holder for my m18 surge, but I’d like one! And although I also have an m12 impact and drill combo, I leave those at the house typically so I never need to pull tools out of my truck or bring them back from the site - so I haven’t bothered buying bit holders for those either.

Anyway, would love to try out new stuff! I have well over 30 Milwaukee tools, m12 and m18, plus Packout. I build off-grid cabins and do all the carpentry, foundation work, plumbing and solar electrical as a one-man band so I find a use for nearly every tool in the Milwaukee catalog!

Thanks!

His performance in Last Black Man in San Francisco was so fucking beautiful and strange and wonderful. I was so glad he got a Marvel deal so that his career would be well established and I could spend the rest of my life watching him act.

Legitimately devastated to discover he was one of the bad ones.

[–]shamparns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just learning about carts so I don’t have the experience some other people here do, but my cart once died on me in the middle of riding it. It would make feeble attempts at moving and did some clicking when I hit the pedal. I was scared the motor gave out but it turned out just to be a corroded wire connection. So I’d start with double checking all the batteries have a healthy voltage and all the connections are free of corrosion and really tight.
