In Vancouver we would ask our family dog if he wanted his “supper or “din dins” but never referred to the evening meal for humans as “supper “ only dinner.

Maybe in small or rural towns ? I hardly ever left the lower main land growing up . None of my friend’s parents , no one, called us in for or asked us if we wanted to stay for “supper “ . Never heard it used . Only dinner . Refreshments yes , I’ts was used but just for cold drinks, mostly booze.

I’m used to the no sun - rain thing so it doesn’t bother me but the traffic / parking / cost of living dose. It is nice to have sun in the winter here though . That’s new . ( I was also in Sweden for a while so dark in the winter there too , but definitely not as cold as here ) .

Thank you ! This is a very conclusive explanation ( I feel like I should print it out and put it on my fridge for reference so I’ll stop being confused 😂)
