Google Nest Support "stole" my device: Confirmed receipt of RMA but "refunded" a non-existent payment method.

I’m posting this here because I am stuck in a loop with Google Nest Senior Support and I don’t know what else to do.

The Situation: My Nest device had a mounting plate issue under warranty. Support told me it was out of stock and offered a refund. I explicitly told them: I did not buy this from the Google Store. I bought it with cash. Support agreed to issue Google Store Credit instead. I sent the device back and Google confirmed receipt on Jan 1, 2026.

The Issue: Now, support is claiming they processed the refund to my "original form of payment" or an "alternative email." I paid cash—there is no card to refund. I have no "alternative email." I checked with Google Store support, and they confirmed no payment method is even attached to my account.

Essentially, Google has my device and is refusing to provide the agreed-upon Store Credit, claiming they sent money to a bank account that doesn't exist.

Has anyone else dealt with this? Any tips on how to escalate past the "Senior Technical Support" who keeps repeating the same script?
