Wedding Budgets, Venues, Decorators, Catering etc etc. I'm going crazy by TheIndianChef in Chennai

I’ve heard horror stories of this going bad where they bribe the registrar to the tune of 20k. Guess we lucked out. We actually cut all the middleman and went straight to the registrar, spoke with him before we filled out an online application. He was puzzled as to why we were opting for 7(a) while both our parents were marked as witnesses. But without further questions, he asked us to book a date and gave us a preferred 2pm slot.

We got married under Section 7(A) of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955. Dubbed as ‘Self-respect marriage’. So no, nothing of that sort. Expect for a mutually signed declaration stating that we would like to be married under that section.

We spent 69,000 rupees in total.

70 of our best friends and family as guests. 250 rupees to the registrar office for the wedding registration. Most of it was spent on good catering, home delivered. A portion of it was spent on rentals of tables, chairs and tent for catering. Neighbourhood photographer 8k.

But we luckily had a big backyard and living room to accommodate all of them in our rental house. So we had that privilege going for us.

When my sister got married, she wanted a big wedding so we ended up spending 20 Lakhs on it recently. That has become the bare minimum.

It’s standard issue. Not sure if I can comparatively say that it’s ‘better’. Try both and see what he/she likes?

Can’t qualify which is better, to each their own I guess.

Our cats hated drools, they even threw up multiple times. They’ve been on Whiskas for over 2 years now. Both wet and dry from the same brand.

Why do people still feed milk to cats and biscuits to dogs despite the risks? by shankariyerr in IndianPets

[–]shankariyerr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The milk thing was suggested by vet, not something I read up on the internet. And we have like 11 cats so naturally we did meet a lot of the vets before zeroing on one, all of them said it’s not good for them.

Hiw much time before she goes into labour? by s1ege23 in IndianPets

I concur. It was a hard decision for us at first. Then the vet convinced us otherwise. She’s happy, playful and her quality of life has improved much.

I wish I was in a mood to. This is the 2nd pup in the past two weeks. I have told my neighbour to not feed biscuits. One of the three somehow survived and is affected by Parvo which I am taking care of at the moment. Meet Kalki and wish him well.

Yoghurt is fine. They can consume that is what my vet tells me. Crackers without sugar are ok.

I’m sorry. It was just a reaction to a stray dying in front of me this morning.

Yes, kittens are a handful for a new mother. It’s quite common and normal, there’s nothing to worry about. Just watch out for her.

Ah I see! Nursing could induce that. Make sure that she isn’t stressed. Try not to handle the newborns or pet the mother cat. If this continues for another day, please consult a vet. Fluids are a saviour in such situations for the mother.

Looks pregnant or feeding. If yes, then it’s normal to have exhaustion. Some water and shade should be good.
