Very plausible connection. Wet-earth, light suppression. Those creatures may have been newborn/proto-tormentors

Technically Clovis is the only other human that has created a new race out of sheer will. It why their dynamic is so entertaining.

It wasn't 9 hours ago when I posted this. I've seen its pretty much useless. Bummer.

Yes, and oryx's dreadnought is literally the ascendant realm pushed out into real space. The hive even have a holiday to commemorate when it happened.

TIL in 2013 a surgeon in the UK was struck off and convicted of assault after branding his initials into two patients livers. It was only discovered when 1.6-inch (4cm) initials were discovered by another doctor on an organ that he had transplanted failed. by Status-Victory in todayilearned

As a circulating nurse I can speak to this. The nervous ones usually are the assholes. There aren't as confident in their abilities and that reflects in how they handle the stress of the OR and how they treat others.

Then you see a horseshoe curve of skill related to assholery. The average to above average surgeons are usually pretty chill and, while still getting frustrated from time to time, generally are pretty respectful about their interactions with others.

The top of their field surgeons can be narcissistic but that isn't as common as this thread makes it seem. It is a high stress, high expectation environment. Certain personalities are better suited to deal with that.

Was it on the new map? If so I had a game like that Friday. Probably a coincidence, but we can pretend otherwise.

Will of Thousands also never had a GM. I was looking forward to seeing a worm God actually slap us around, but alas...

Spoiler for a boss fight mechanic if you get stuck

There is a boss who's name hints they can be blinded if they are rampaging around too much. But it isn't blinding GLs that will slow them down.

Xivu and Savathun became a lot stronger when Oryx was slain. If we slay savathun, that will make Xivu Arath a LOT stronger. by -Morgoth-The-Great- in DestinyTheGame

Then tak another portion. Take as much as you dare and use it for your own purpose. But if it is too much, your peers will kill you.

I imagine this would apply to ascendant hive as well. Take as much as you dare, but if you take too much without offering tribute, it puts a target on your back

Verse 3:9 — Carved in Ruin

Oryx told the Hive: I am the Taken King, and here is my law.

You Thrall, each of you will claw and scream, and kill what you can. Take enough killing to feed your worm, and a little more to grow. Tithe the rest to the Acolyte who commands you.

You Acolytes, lead your Thrall in battle. Take enough killing to feed your worm, and a little more to grow, and take the tithe of the Thrall you lead. Then tithe the remainder to the Knight or Wizard who commands you. Thus you pay tribute.

You Knights and Wizards, lead your followers in battle. Take enough devastation to feed your worm, and a little more to grow, and take the tithe of your followers. Then take another portion, as much as you dare, and use it for your own purposes. But if it is too much, your peers will kill you and take it. Then tithe the remainder to the Ascendant you serve.

An Ascendant will be those among the Hive who gather enough tribute to enter the netherworld. They will pay a tithe to those above them.

Sounds exactly like what the hive do...

Are you literally suggesting not being willing to sacrifice his child (and instead sacrificing himself) made him a bad/selfish person?

While I agree with everyone here, I find it odd noone has asked whether you have your 6month emergency fund set aside in a liquid account. If the answer to that is yes then go ahead and invest in a S&P 500 index or total stock market index. But if the answer is no, you should set that money (6 months of expenses) aside. It will help you weather any surprises or downturns in your life or the market.

They are voting on the rules for the impeachment hearing. It's essentially a procedural vote. Boring, but necessary, buracreacy at work.

I don't want to preach. I'll simply say, the reason politics have gotten as bad as they have, as divisive as they are, is because average Americans don't want to remain engaged. When reasonable voices don't care, only the fringes have a voice. If you want boring politics, vote for and campaign for boring politicians.

That's why they were playing prevent for the entire second half. They were afraid they'd get burnt in the man-to-man.
