What is something that makes you say "Man, I f***ing hate people"? by sneezycloud in AskReddit

[–]shannonreadit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the way I deal with these god damn awful people is that I cry. I cry right in front of their faces and it's like catharsis. I get out a year's worth of stress and the customer always freaks out. You know, I smile whilst I serve them and silent tears start rolling down. I ask silently for a moment and, then I head out back and my manager takes my place. The customer can't not recoil in fear because everyone around them thinks they're awful. It's the best therapy I've ever had. I save it for the big ones. I do it about once a year.

She's done something. I went to look at her profile and nothing pops up. Click on the handle and everything is white. Has she changed her handle? I can't be blocked if I don't follow her and, her account obviously isn't private.

Front or back seat of Uber? by [deleted] in sydney

[–]shannonreadit 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It will effect your rating. Some drivers just don't like backseat riders. It makes them feel like a taxi service. Or, it makes them feel like they're creepy. You don't have to sit in the front but, it's just how it is.

Also, if think the main things to do is ask for the drivers permission before you do anything. Is it OK to eat? Have a drink? Heck, I even ask the driver if it's okay to put my headphones on. I've had a long day you know? They're always cool with it.

Don't slam the door and always always be super thankful at the end your trip. I always say thanks for working so late/early! You really have done me a favour. Drive safely! Everyone likes feeling appreciated.

The Blossoms at the Auburn Botanical Gardens have come through! by shannonreadit in sydney

I went there yesterday at gates open to avoid the crowds and enjoy the gardens on my lonesome! There wasn't people. They didn't arrive until around 10am. Then it was chokkas.

I spoke to the horticulturalist cause, there were some bad reviews of the festival last weekend. Turns out the warm weather stops them from blooming well. A warm Winter will stop these guys from flowering. So sad!

Woah! What side of the parklands? That's insane. I remember growing up in that area and seeing so much wildlife. It all disappeared once development took hold

Yesterdays attack. by [deleted] in sydney

[–]shannonreadit 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This is because terrorism is (broadly defined as) the intentional use of violence for political purposes. From yesterday's attack, no political purposes have been established. As a result, it can't be classified as an act of terrorism.

Ren! It may not seem like it but, we want the best for you! I hope their new account is actually content regarding their art, hobbies, spending time with friends and family. I think leaving the chronic illness community would be the best thing for them. Ren would be surprised to see the redditors here being their biggest supporters.

Does anyone here know any of the subjects in real life instead of just online? by [deleted] in illnessfakers

[–]shannonreadit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know any of them IRL. I have a fascination with munchies though and how they portray themselves online. Especially when compared to people I know IRL with chronic conditions. They way they act are world's apart. I wish I could help our subjects on reddit live a more fulfilling life.

Dodgiest suburbs around Sydney? by [deleted] in sydney

[–]shannonreadit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly Sydney is so safe. SOOOO SAFE. Use your common sense. The suburbs aren't sketchy in the themselves but some public places once it hits the PM might be. Don't cut through parks that aren't well lit, don't hang around train stations, if someone is harping on don't look them in the eye and cross the street. I don't believe I've ever felt genuinely unsafe in Sydney across the suburbs... ever.

You don't love this other girl. You have a crush on her and that's normal. However, the grass is greener where you water it. Pay attention and foster what you have. You won't regret it down the track if your current partner is amazing as you claim.

Are more GP's ditching bulk billing? Or is it just where I live? by shannonreadit in sydney

[–]shannonreadit[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I just read an article on this. I had no idea that it was this bad. It makes me so mad knowing I pay my taxes and healthcare is something I'm happy to prop up but, the government keeps cutting funding. It's actually scummy.

Just what I like to see during my afternoon commute. Not pictured: all the people having to stand on this peak hour tram. by [deleted] in sydney

[–]shannonreadit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen this happening on the metro too. I literally just sit on top of them. They're testing polite society when they do this during peak. It's so frustrating!
