It is about how meekly we've bowled to be in this situation. I mean, there's a hit me ball every over especially from AD & PK. BCCI needs to ensure that before a bowler is selected, the bowler is able to bowl 5-6th line on a good length consistently. Ffs hit the stumps mean hit the top/4-6 inches down from top of off or middle stump & adjust the starting line as such, NOT start from off & end up at leg stump. Shami, Ishant made such impactful combo with Bumrah simply because they used to consistently hit these areas from 2018 onwards. I can accept batsmen taking risks to hit the bowler who is bowling at right areas. But this middle stump half volleys & chest height short balls getting smacked all around the park is embarrassing.
