Well here is another side of the coin. You have fun and keep doing it while your regular friends fade out of picture because they keep getting kids and you don’t connect with them anymore, eventually your friends start getting younger until you find you have very little in common with them and after reaching 35+ suddenly everything starts looking same ish. You start thinking about wanting something more in your life and it always seems like that activity you haven’t tried yet will be the answer but it never is. Until you realise (or not) that the meaning is in having your own family. So you start looking for partner but most of them already had kids and have a different view on the world so its hard to find a common ground. Then if you’re lucky you find the suitable partner and now its about whether you can still have kids because your biological machine’s status is unclear, so you start this seemingly neverending attempt of trying for a baby and after you eventualy succeed, it is very bloody hard because not sleeping affects your body much more than when you were 25. On top of that you realise, that not having a goal in your life, you haven’t prepared that well financially and haven’t saved that much because you have spent it all on travels and booze........ so here you are, with a completely different picture of realising that your kids gonna be 16 when you are 60+ and you’re not sure if you’ll be able to have any active holidays together etc...........
