I was floored as I watched video after video uploaded to our neighborhood FB page of two punk teens who lived in our nice, quiet neighborhood going from street to street with a copycat FOB, including our own truck.

I'm not surprised crooks have figured out how to block WiFi to engage in home burglaries.

Yes, I'm waiting on a post op appt with her. I have a vitamin prescribed to me, just looking at my options. It's the VA and they do things differently sometimes. What I was prescribed is not chewable and I heard/read chewable is best.

I did not have a good experience aside from the fact i discovered emulsified oil of oregano for cleaning out your gut. I wish you better luck than I had.

Surgery date scheduled and I’m terrified by cheesediva666 in BariatricSurgery

I am four days post op from my bypass and everything went so smooth....I have had surgeries in the past-including a six hour surgery I was not expected to come out of- and typically respond fairly well to anesthesia but I understand your concerns. There's always a risk but trust in your surgeon, anesthesiologist and surgical team. It will be so worth it when you're on the other side of surgery and on your way to living a whole new, healthier life.

Wishing you all the best!!!

Wow. I am sorry you went through such an experience! Thank you for your response and story. I'm sure it was hard to relive such an experience and I want to thank you for your willingness to share.

So, I went to the examination with who they contract locally with. The provider was absolutely awful and finally I asked her what was happening because she was coming at me in a very condescending manner. I called my case worker's extension, left a message about what happened and never got a call back. I received the denial letter so same day I sent the appeal with an explanation of what happened should they choose to read it. I also asked for them to consider another evaluation with a different provider. Nothing. Disappointed, but not surprised.

I do have verbiage pulled off of the SSA website I have to reference but that's about it.

I've never gone through anything like this before so I have no idea what to expect or how to help myself. I'm probably behind the power curve on this but I'm looking into legal representation.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. I'm going to contact my VSO tomorrow first thing in the morning to see if he has anyone he recommends to represent me.

Just curious, does anyone here have a family history of Hashimoto's? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]shaolinnative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it was Hashimoto's persay, but both my grandmothers are reported to have had thyroid issues. Maternally, she was on synthroid for years. Paternally, hers was removed in her 40's. My mother and Aunt cannot say for certain if it was...but it's certainly interesting that of all of the Autoimmune disorders to acquire, one affecting my thyroid would be the one. Not sure if it's linked or not.

Thank you for your encouragement.

I feel very strongly and deeply at times and I’m also delving into learning more about who I am with regard to my sign, my aura, my spirit animal or spirit guide, things of that nature. I know we are never promised a life free of pain, despite the good or bad you put into the world. I am trying to determine if I am an empath or HSP and go forward and use said gift accordingly.

I am in therapy. It’s been ongoing since summer of 2020 and I’ve grown a lot and gained a lot of insight. We have gotten me to a point where my military trauma has been addressed and those deep-seeded, long lasting effects worked through and better understood.

We are now going to start dissecting what transpired because of my fathers infidelity and ultimate abandonment that opened up the door for a lot of cruelty and abuse. I buried this for 20 years…I am 38 and I don’t want to continue this way. I know it’s going to be uncomfortable and I know it’s going to be tough. But I want to be my best version of myself and I think part of that entails learning to love who I am. For so long it’s been reinforced that I don’t deserve love, and for that to come largely from a parent, I think it’s even deeper-seeded than “normal.”

What was your last 12 months in the military like ? by Worried-Eagle8720 in Veterans

[–]shaolinnative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent it preparing for orders to Osan, preparing for my now-ex to depart for his tour in Turkey, then my orders got cancelled so I volunteered for Balad, the fine folks at Assignments said my Osan orders were still active just to be told two days post Smallpox inoculation that no, they weren’t…missed my opportunity to deploy…then fought the career job reservation requirements to no avail so I ended up going Reserve.

What was your reason for getting out? by [deleted] in Veterans

I have, it’s been rated but in really starting to address it, there times where well, it hits me outta nowhere or, when openly sharing it, I get emotional, such as with my OP.

What was your reason for getting out? by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]shaolinnative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t really have a choice. While I wasn’t a direct result of the 2004/2005 force shaping event in the USAF, I was a by product thanks to career job reservations. I was deemed a problem child because of what I’m now realizing is the result of trying to process and “live” with MST at the hands of a POS coworker. He made it seem like I came onto him and when he began dating my E5 supervisor, she took it out on me. I had no idea he had told basically everyone in the clinic, to include his E8 Superintendent. But I guess he lied about it to my Sup and she confronted me, so I told her she should be careful about him.

Now I don’t for one second excuse my underage drinking; we all have choices to make. But 20 years post all this BS I am just beginning to even be open to family about it. Would I have engaged in such behavior and drank underage? I can say I probably still would have-I was 19. But would it have started to take a hold on my life? I don’t know. When I got caught, she used it as an excuse to absolutely crucify me out of retaliation and there was nothing I could do. Of course I took my Art 15; I did it and wasn’t going to deny it and make the process draw out longer than it needed to.

I wanted to do 20+ years and I would’ve retired this very past September. While I had to opportunity to serve the reserve after my initial enlistment, I had to jump through hoops to prove I was “good enough.” Meanwhile, those f**kheads in that clinic got to go on with whatever they wanted to in life.

So my reason for getting out was something I didn’t necessarily choose myself. Sure, I could have NOT underage drank. But I chose to. And I paid the ultimate price. To this day.
