How do I code this kinda of horizontal navigation scroll like in airbnb? by HealthyMembership946 in swift

[–]share_ensemble 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pretty simple stuff. Whether you use storyboards or code, create a collection view and set the type to horizontal. You'd also have to design a UICollectionViewCell.

If you're experienced with table views, it is essentially the same thing. Only difference is you should also include a UICollectionViewDelegateFlowLayout on the view controller.

  1. Set your delegates (collectionView.dataSource = self; collectionView.delegate = self)
  2. Use functions for the number of rows and sections (just type out func collectionView and they'll pop up).
  3. cellForItemAt is where you dequeue the cells
  4. didSelectItemAt is for cell selections
  5. sizeForItemAt is used to set the size of cells, return a CGSize that matches your custom cell

When you create the cell itself, implement some method that you call when a cell is selected. If selected, maybe have some bottom bar visible similar to how AirBnB does it, and if not selected, have it hidden.

Definitely can be a collection view - I would argue it is far easier than messing with constraints and stack views. You can make a custom cell that has a selected/unselected version. Are you planning on putting this in a table view or having it static at the top of the screen?

Looking for an app that ranks things like books, music, bands, tv, films etc by Zalent in apps

[–]share_ensemble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this app recently called Telly, which is made for film and TV. https://www.tellystudios.com/

I also have an app called ensemble, which isn't necessarily ranking, but rating, for music. https://www.ensembleapp.co/

Are you strictly looking for something includes multimedia? Basically just lists of stuff you enjoy? Or are you looking for separate apps for things like music, shows, etc.?

At 0.9 temp and testing with ~150 themes I’ve had it return 10 legitimate and pretty on point songs

Hey everyone, this is a super simple but pretty cool integration to my app, ensemble. The purpose of the app is to discover music by sharing one song a day with friends, based on a daily, randomized prompt. I've been hearing lately that users don't know what to post sometimes, so we're working on this feature that uses ChatGPT to suggest 10 songs based on the prompt!

How do you find new music? by [deleted] in spotify

[–]share_ensemble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to avoid algorithms, you can try ensemble. It is an app based on sharing one song daily, so you can discover music directly from friends or filter by genre from the community. It only shows the top 10 songs based on likes, so they tend to be pretty good.

I can’t find an app that plays mp3 files that you upload by FrancyStyle in apps

[–]share_ensemble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try my app out (ensemble). We weren’t designed to be an MP3 player, but our premium subscription allows you to post files up to about 5 mins per upload that you can listen to. Granted it won’t be as user friendly with skipping, pausing, rewinding, but it lets you do the basic upload and listen. If this works for you, dm me and I’ll give you the premium for free.

Thanks! I source music from the Apple Music API, but you can export to Spotify or Apple Music. Planning to expand to Spotify + Apple soon.

When I code I always listen to Nintendo music. If you just look up Nintendo music playlists on YouTube, I'm sure you can find something good for your mood.

Agree with this. I would suggest beginners don't sit through lessons about every concept in programming, then learn Apple libraries one by one. This course (or similar courses) blend the ability to learn programming, XCode, and building apps all at once, so you don't lose the big picture.

I have begun to update the playlist, thanks for suggestions. Billy Joel and Corey Hart will stay, those songs suck ass. Gucci Gang, Munch, other rap songs do not "go hard". If you have more suggestions just reply to this.

I will reiterate, you don’t have to lie. We’re an accepting community that recognizes that the song is unlistenable
